How to choose a suitable diaphragm sealed differential pressure transmitter
Date: 2025-06-06Read: 40
Choosing a suitable diaphragm sealed differential pressure transmitter requires consideration of multiple factors, including application environment, medium type, pressure range, temperature, installation method, signal output requirements, etc. Commonly used for measuring corrosive, viscous, crystalline, or high-temperature media, special attention should be paid to the following aspects when selecting:
1. Media type and compatibility
Firstly, it is necessary to confirm the type of medium being tested.Diaphragm sealed differential pressure transmitterMainly used for handling media that are difficult to directly contact, such as corrosive liquids, gases, suspended solids, viscous liquids, etc. The material of the sealing membrane needs to be selected according to the chemical properties of the medium. Common membrane materials include stainless steel, Hastelloy alloy, titanium alloy, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.
2. Pressure range
When selecting, the appropriate range must be chosen based on the pressure range in the measurement system. Its range should cover the maximum differential pressure value of the system, while leaving a certain margin to avoid equipment damage caused by excessive pressure. When the pressure is too high, it may be necessary to use a transmitter with high pressure tolerance, while in low-pressure applications, a low range transmitter with higher accuracy can be selected.
3. Temperature range
The operating temperature range of the transmitter is another important selection factor. Diaphragm sealed differential pressure transmitters made of different materials are suitable for different temperature ranges. Usually, the temperature adaptation range of a transmitter is limited by the sealing material and the structural design of the sensor. High temperature media may require the use of transmitters made of high-temperature resistant materials. If used in extremely low temperature environments, it is necessary to ensure the frost resistance of the instrument.

4. Installation method
The installation method needs to match the interface of the pipeline or container. Common installation methods include direct installation and remote installation. Direct installation is suitable for situations where the pressure is relatively low and the medium is not easily crystallized or blocked, while remote installation is suitable for high temperature, high pressure, or difficult to contact media. In addition, for some complex systems, installation brackets, isolation fluids, and other accessories can also be used to ensure the stable operation of the transmitter.
5. Output signal
Common output signals include analog signals and digital signals. Analog signals are suitable for most conventional control systems, while digital signals are suitable for systems that require more accurate and remote diagnosis. Choosing the appropriate output signal type requires consideration of the compatibility and communication requirements of the existing control system.
Choosing a suitable diaphragm sealed differential pressure transmitter requires comprehensive consideration of various factors such as medium type, pressure range, temperature, fluid viscosity, installation method, output signal, protection level, accuracy, etc. By comprehensively analyzing these factors, it is possible to ensure the selection of transmitters that are suitable for specific application requirements, thereby improving measurement accuracy and system reliability, reducing maintenance costs, and extending equipment lifespan.
