CPU 1511-1 PN is an economical entry-level CPU used for applications in discontinuous production technology that do not require high processing speed and response speed. CPU 1511-1 PN/DP can be used as a PROFINET IO controller or as a distributed intelligent device (PROFINET smart device). The integrated PROFINET IO IRT interface is designed as a 2-port switch to establish a bus topology in the system. In addition, the CPU provides comprehensive control functionality through easily configurable blocks, as well as the ability to connect to drivers through standardized PLCopen blocks.
