The chlorophyll content in plants is usually most affected by the intensity of light. We all know that light is the basic condition for plants to carry out photosynthesis. Without light, plants cannot carry out photosynthesis, which affects their growth and development. What factors affect the chlorophyll content of tobacco leaves?

The research results indicate that the chlorophyll content of tobacco leaves significantly increases under shading, and the smaller the light intensity, the higher the increase. Compared with tobacco leaves grown under natural light, the chlorophyll a content of tobacco leaves with 39% shading, 13% shading, and 1% shading increased by 313.5% and 420%, respectively 1% and 383 3%, chlorophyll b content increased by 242.8% and 385% respectively 7% and 400 0%, so its total chlorophyll content is much higher than that of tobacco grown under natural light. Chlorophyll b is mainly present in the antenna components of PSI and PSII (especially in the antenna components of PSI), while chlorophyll a is mainly present in the core complex of PSII and PSI. Therefore, during low light stress, changes in chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b content can reflect the sensitivity and damage of the core complex and peripheral antenna components of the two light systems to low light. After shading, tobacco leaves are subjected to weak light stress, and their chlorophyll content remains high, indicating that low light severely damages the core complex and peripheral antenna. The increase in chlorophyll a content in tobacco leaves under shading is higher than that of chlorophyll b, indicating that low light causes more severe damage to the core complex.
The above results also indicate that the influence of light intensity on the chlorophyll content of tobacco leaves is still significant, and throughlight incubatorIt can greatly shorten the time of experiments and improve the work efficiency of agricultural researchers.
