Xiamen University, abbreviated as Xiamen University, was founded by patriotic overseas Chinese Mr. Chen Jiageng in 1921. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in modern China and a high-level university under the national "211 Project" and "985 Project". In 2017, Xiamen University was included in the list of A-class university construction universities announced by the state.

Since its establishment, the school has adhered to the motto of "self-improvement and striving for excellence", accumulated rich educational experience, formed distinctive educational characteristics, and become a comprehensive university with a complete range of disciplines, strong faculty, and extensive influence in the field.
