Installation and commissioning of online monitoring instrument for ammonia nitrogen pollution source
Date: 2025-10-29Read: 0
The installation and debugging of online monitoring instruments for ammonia nitrogen pollution sources are key steps to ensure that the equipment can accurately and efficiently monitor ammonia nitrogen concentration. The following are the detailed steps of the installation and debugging process:
1、 Installation preparation
Equipment inspection
Before installation, check whether the instruments and equipment are intact and ensure that all accessories are complete, especially gas sampling tubes, sensors, display panels, and other components.
Confirm the provided equipment manual and instruction manual, understand the technical parameters and installation requirements of the equipment.
Preparation of installation site
Ensure good ventilation in the installation location and avoid installing in areas that are too humid or have large temperature fluctuations.
The installation location should avoid direct sunlight, strong electromagnetic interference sources, or high vibration areas to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment.
Power supply and communication
Ensure that the power supply voltage of the equipment meets the requirements (usually AC220V or DC24V), and do a good job of grounding to avoid equipment failure caused by unstable power supply or leakage.
Check communication interfaces (such as RS485, Modbus, 4-20mA output, etc.) to ensure proper connection with monitoring systems, PLCs, or data acquisition systems.
Confirm installation environment
Ammonia nitrogen monitoring devices usually require a relatively clean and non corrosive gas environment to avoid high concentrations of corrosive gases or dust affecting the normal operation of the equipment.
2、 Equipment installation
Install sensors
According to monitoring needs, select a suitable gas sampling device and install the sensor in a designated location, usually at a suitable position in the gas flow path (such as smoke pipelines, exhaust outlets, etc.).
The installation position of the sensor should avoid gas retention and ensure that the flow rate and volume of the sample gas meet the requirements.
Adjust the sampling port of the sensor to ensure it is located in the middle and upper part of the airflow, avoiding blockage or sedimentation affecting the sampling port.
Installation of gas sampling tube
When installing gas sampling pipes, ensure that the pipes are smooth and leak free. Gas sampling tubes are usually connected to sensors to ensure good sealing.
If the device supports multiple channels or monitoring points, ensure that the sampling tube of each sampling point is connected to the corresponding measurement module.
Wiring and Interface
Connect the power and signal lines according to the instructions. The power cord should use cables that comply with regulations and ensure good grounding to avoid interference.
For communication interfaces, ensure that RS485, Modbus, or 4-20mA output signals are correctly connected to the upper computer or data acquisition system.
Install protective cover and alarm system
If the equipment is equipped with a protective cover or shielding net, it should be installed in place to prevent external factors from affecting the equipment.
Set up an alarm device, connect the alarm signal output, and trigger high and low alarms based on the set value of ammonia nitrogen concentration.
3、 System debugging
Check the operating status of the equipment
After starting the device, check the operating status of the display screen or interface to ensure that the device is turned on normally.
Check whether the voltage, current, gas sampling flow rate and other parameters of the equipment are within the normal range.
zero point calibration
Perform zero calibration on the ammonia nitrogen sensor. This step requires calibration using zero point gas (i.e. air without ammonia nitrogen). During operation, ensure that the equipment is not disturbed by other gases.
During the calibration process, follow the steps provided in the manual to ensure accuracy and correctness.
Span calibration
Use standard ammonia nitrogen gas for span calibration to ensure that the instrument can accurately detect ammonia nitrogen concentration.
It is necessary to use a known concentration of ammonia nitrogen standard gas, introduce the standard gas into the sampling tube according to the calibration procedure, and adjust the equipment to make the displayed concentration value match the concentration value of the standard gas.
Traffic Settings
Adjust the flow rate of the gas sampling pump according to the actual situation of the sampling point, usually set between 1-5L/min. When setting up, it is important to ensure that the sampling flow rate is within an appropriate range, which can ensure stable sampling and avoid measurement errors caused by low flow rates.
Signal output settings
Set the output signal mode of the device as needed (such as 4-20mA, RS485, Modbus, etc.) to ensure that the data can communicate normally with the monitoring system, PLC, or other devices.
Check the real-time data output of the device and confirm that the data is transmitted correctly.
Alarm Settings
Set an alarm threshold for ammonia nitrogen concentration, and the system can automatically trigger an alarm when the concentration reaches or exceeds the set value.
High concentration alarm, low concentration alarm, and equipment failure alarm can be set.
Check data accuracy
After calibration, different concentrations of ammonia nitrogen standard gas can be used to test the equipment and confirm the accuracy of the equipment data.
Check whether the ammonia nitrogen concentration displayed by the instrument is close to the actual concentration to ensure the stability and reliability of the equipment measurement.
4、 Operation after system debugging
Long term monitoring and data recording
After confirming that the device is in normal working condition, start long-term monitoring. Ensure stable operation of the equipment and regularly check data records.
Data recording can be carried out through systems such as computers, cloud platforms, or PLCs, facilitating later analysis and report generation.
Regular calibration and maintenance
To ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment, regular calibration and maintenance of the equipment should be carried out. Calibration is usually performed every 3-6 months.
Regularly clean the sensor, check if the gas sampling pipeline is contaminated or blocked, and replace any damaged parts according to the actual situation.
Troubleshooting and Technical Support
During the operation of the equipment, if there is a malfunction or abnormal situation (such as abnormal display, frequent alarms, etc.), it is necessary to conduct timely troubleshooting.
Check the cause of the malfunction through the alarm signal or display screen of the device, such as sensor damage, sampling tube blockage, gas leakage, etc., and make corresponding repairs.
V. Summary
The installation and debugging of the online monitoring instrument for ammonia nitrogen pollution sources need to be strictly carried out in accordance with the equipment manual and operation manual to ensure that the installation position, connection, calibration and other aspects of the equipment are correct and error free. During the debugging process, the focus is on ensuring the accuracy, stability, and reliability of data transmission of the equipment. Regular maintenance of the equipment is also a necessary condition for ensuring its long-term operation.
