How to choose peristaltic pump tubing

Hose material
Silicone rubber, rubber, plastic, synthetic materials, etc., different materials exhibit different properties and have different uses.
Hose parameters
The specifications of hoses are mainly based on inner diameter and wall thickness, and different manufacturers have different ways of expressing them;
For example, using specification codes and "inner diameter x outer diameter".
asperistaltic pumpConditions of hoses
·Has a certain degree of elasticity, that is, the hose can quickly recover its shape after radial compression
·Has a certain degree of wear resistance
·Having a certain ability to withstand pressure
·No leakage (good air tightness)
·Low adsorption, good temperature resistance, not easy to age, not swollen, corrosion-resistant, low precipitation, etc

The selection of hoses should consider the following factors
·Temperature
The adaptability of the hose to the working temperature range is a factor that users need to consider. Different materials have different temperature behaviors.

·Chemical corrosion resistance/Chemical compatibility
When transporting different fluids, hoses should exhibit certain excellent chemical properties, which is called chemical compatibility. For example, low adsorption, good temperature resistance, resistance to aging, non swelling, corrosion resistance, low precipitation, etc
The resistance to chemical corrosion decreases with increasing temperature, and chemicals that do not affect the hose at room temperature may have an impact on the hose with increasing temperature.

·Size
The size of the hose has a direct impact on the flow rate, and pump design will consider the inner diameter and wall thickness of the applicable hose, matching the hose size or pipe number range. The inner diameter of the hose determines the flow rate; The wall thickness affects the ability of the hose to be compressed and rebound, and also has a significant impact on the lifespan of the hose.

·Pressure bearing
The application of peristaltic pumps is limited by the pressure bearing performance of hoses.
If the system pressure exceeds the limit pressure of the hose, the hose will expand, causing excessive wear or hose rupture.
The factors that affect the pressure resistance of hoses include material, the ratio of diameter to wall thickness, etc.

·Flexibility of hoses/elasticity/lifespan
The ability of different hoses to withstand repeated compression and friction from rollers varies. Different pipe types, pipe materials, pump heads, and operating speeds have different lifespans. The service life in pump systems is called flexible life, and the characteristics of the pump are consistent in specific applications. Choose long-life, thick walled pipes, use high flow pumps, and operate at lower speeds to achieve longer hose service life
·Certification
When hoses are used for related purposes, they may need to pass relevant certifications. As per the standards of the United States PharmacopeiaUSPThe European Pharmacopoeia StandardEPThe US Food and Drug Administration StandardsFDAThe US Department of Agriculture StandardsUSDAAccording to the standards of the National Health FoundationNSF.
