The difference between fully automatic dry nitrogen blower and water bath nitrogen blower

The fully automatic dry nitrogen blower and water bath nitrogen blower are commonly used sample concentration equipment in the laboratory, and there are significant differences between the two in terms of heating method, temperature control, and applicable range. Here are their main differences:
1、 Heating method
Type Heating Principle Characteristics
The dry nitrogen blower uses a metal module (usually an aluminum block) to directly heat the sample tube. By rapidly transferring heat through aluminum blocks with high thermal conductivity, efficient heating of the sample is achieved. -Fast heating speed, rapid heating and cooling
-No need for water, cleaner operation, easy to carry
-Heating may be uneven, with the bottom temperature being higher than the top
The water bath nitrogen blower immerses the sample tube in a constant temperature water bath and indirectly heats it using water as a heat transfer medium. -Uniform heating of all parts
-Slow heating and cooling, with minimal temperature fluctuations
-Regular water replacement is required, and maintenance is cumbersome
2、 Temperature Range and Control
Parameter dry nitrogen blowing instrument, water bath nitrogen blowing instrument
High temperature can reach 150 ℃~180 ℃, generally not exceeding 100 ℃ (limited by the boiling point of water)
Temperature control is relatively difficult to achieve precise temperature control, as there is no liquid medium buffer and a thermometer can be inserted to monitor water temperature in real time, resulting in more stable temperature control
Explanation: If the experiment requires a processing temperature higher than 100 ℃, a dry nitrogen blower must be selected.
3、 Applicable sample types
Reasons for recommending sample characteristics and types
Water sensitive or metal containing organic reagents dry nitrogen blow apparatus water bath heating can generate water vapor, which may cause sample hydrolysis or reaction
Organic compounds that are flammable, explosive, or not suitable for contact with open flames. The water bath of the nitrogen blower provides a mild heating environment to avoid danger caused by local overheating
Require a small amount of uniformly heated sample water bath, nitrogen blower, and water medium to make the heat distribution more uniform
The high-throughput, porous position rapid processing dry nitrogen blowing instrument can be designed with multiple pore positions (such as 12 pores, 24 pores), suitable for batch processing
4、 Comparison of other usage characteristics
Dry nitrogen blowing instrument, water bath nitrogen blowing instrument for the project
Do we need a water source? Yes, we need to add water
Cleaning and maintenance are simple, and there is no problem of water accumulation, which is more complex. It is necessary to prevent scaling and mold
Safety is more suitable for volatile and non corrosive samples. 1 is milder and suitable for thermally unstable substances
High portability, no need for matching water source, relatively low
Summary: How to choose?
Choose a dry nitrogen blower when:
High temperature operation is required (>100 ℃)
The sample is afraid of water or contains metal reagents
The experimental environment is inconvenient for water supply or requires portability
Processing large quantities of samples, pursuing efficiency
