A three gas incubator is a specialized laboratory equipment designed to provide accurately controlled environmental conditions to meet the cultivation needs of biological samples such as cells, microorganisms, and plant tissues. The three gas incubator provides a more in vivo experimental platform for life science research by accurately regulating the concentrations of oxygen (O ₂), carbon dioxide (CO ₂), and nitrogen (N ₂), as well as temperature and humidity, to simulate specific physiological or experimental conditions.
The three gas incubator delivers oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen into the incubator through a gas supply system in a predetermined ratio. The gas detection sensor monitors the gas concentration inside the box in real time and feeds back the signal to the control system. The control system automatically adjusts the opening of the gas supply valve based on feedback from sensors to accurately control the concentration of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen inside the box. At the same time, the heating system and humidification system also work together under the regulation of the control system to maintain a stable temperature and humidity inside the box.
The three gas incubator simulates the growth environment of microorganisms, tissues, cells, etc., providing stable temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration, and oxygen concentration. It is a product further improved on the basis of a carbon dioxide incubator, which can not only add CO ₂, but also nitrogen and oxygen, and is controlled and adjusted by a computer to adjust the content of various gases. The three gas incubator mainly consists of an outer shell, an inner tank, a temperature control device, a gas concentration control system, etc.
A three gas incubator usually consists of the following parts:
Box body: made of stainless steel plate or other corrosion-resistant materials, with good sealing and insulation performance.
Shelf: Used for placing culture samples, generally designed to be detachable or adjustable in height.
Heating system: The six sided heating method is commonly used to ensure uniform temperature distribution inside the box.
Gas supply system: including gas sources for oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen, as well as corresponding gas pipelines, valves, flow meters, and other components.
Gas detection sensor: equipped with carbon dioxide and oxygen sensors, real-time and accurate detection of gas concentration inside the box.
Circulating fan: circulates the air inside the box, promoting the balance of temperature, humidity, and gas concentration.
Humidification system: Water vapor is generated through methods such as water tray heating or ultrasonic atomization to maintain a suitable humidity inside the box.
