A single channel pipette is an experimental device that transfers a certain volume of liquid from one container to another by adjusting gas pressure or mechanical devices. It usually has an adjustable liquid suction capacity, which can adapt to the needs of different experiments. Due to its simple structure and easy operation, it is widely used in fields such as biological experiments, clinical medicine, drug development, and environmental testing.

Single channel pipetteWorking principle:
1. Aspiration: Rotate or press the adjustment knob on the pipette to adjust the suction volume of the pipette. When suctioning, the piston pulls upwards to create negative pressure, and the liquid is sucked into the pipette tube of the pipette.
2. Liquid transfer: The pipette at the tip of the pipette comes into contact with the target container. Press the push button of the pipette, and the piston pushes the liquid into the target container.
3. Emptying: After completing the liquid transfer, the user needs to gently press the emptying button to ensure that all the liquid in the pipette is released and to avoid any residual liquid affecting the experimental results.
Usage:
1. Adjust the volume of the pipette
According to the needs of the experiment, first turn the volume adjustment knob on the transfer pipette and adjust it to the desired liquid suction volume. Usually, the adjustment range of a pipette ranges from a few microliters (µ L) to several milliliters (mL).
2. Take liquid
Insert the pipette into the liquid container and press the suction button to easily extract the liquid. During the suction process, keep the pipette upright to avoid the formation of bubbles in the liquid inside the tube.
3. Transfer liquids
Contact the pipette of the pipette with the liquid contact point of the target container, press the drain button to complete the transfer of the liquid. During the operation, maintain a stable pressing speed to avoid liquid splashing or leakage.
4. Clean the pipette
After use, the pipette needs to be cleaned to avoid liquid residue or cross contamination. Use appropriate cleaning agents to clean the pipette and ensure it is clean and free from contamination.
Common maintenance methods for single channel pipettes:
1. Regular cleaning
After use, it is important to promptly clean the pipette's suction tube and external surface, especially the piston part inside. Non corrosive cleaning agents and deionized water can be used for cleaning to avoid damage to equipment from other chemical solvents.
2. Calibration check
Regularly check the accuracy and precision of the pipette. Test the liquid transfer accuracy of the pipette by using standard liquids such as deionized water. If significant errors are found, calibration should be performed.
3. Replace the seals
As the usage time increases, the seal of the pipette may age, leading to a decrease in suction efficiency. Regular inspection and replacement of seals are required.
4. Avoid overloading operations
Do not exceed the maximum suction volume of the pipette to avoid equipment damage or decreased accuracy.
5. Storage conditions
The pipette should be stored in a dry and clean environment, avoiding prolonged exposure to high temperatures, humidity, or strong sunlight.
