Masterflex peristaltic pumpIt is a positive displacement pump based on flexible hose elastic deformation for fluid transportation. Due to its unique characteristics of no pollution, low shear, and easy maintenance, it has become a core fluid control equipment in fields such as biomedicine, food processing, environmental monitoring, and scientific research experiments. Its working principle simulates the mechanism of human intestinal peristalsis, forming negative pressure through periodic squeezing of elastic hoses, driving one-way flow of liquid, avoiding direct contact between the pump body and fluid throughout the process, and fundamentally eliminating the risk of cross contamination.
Masterflex peristaltic pumpMaintenance and upkeep are crucial for ensuring its long-term stable operation and extending its service life
1. Daily inspection and cleaning
Hose status: Regularly check the hose for wear, cracks, or local deformation, and confirm that the hose joints are securely fastened without looseness. Especially when in contact with corrosive media, even if there is no obvious damage to the appearance, the replacement cycle should be shortened according to the frequency of use (generally recommended to replace once every 1-3 months).
Pump head and roller: Keep the surface of the pump head and roller clean to avoid residue affecting the extrusion accuracy. Clean the drive roller and pump body to prevent cross contamination or performance degradation caused by residual viscous liquid.
2. Lubrication system
Mechanical component lubrication: Perform simple lubrication status confirmation on mechanical components such as drive rollers and bearings. For roller bearings, it is recommended to replace the lubricating grease every 6 months, but be careful not to add grease easily. You should consult the manufacturer of the purchased peristaltic pump to see if it can be added to avoid damaging the service life of the roller shaft and pump tube.
3. Regular maintenance
Deep inspection of hoses: Conduct a comprehensive inspection of hose wear at least once a month. If there is hardening, cracking, or obvious indentation, replace immediately.
Mechanical component inspection: detect bearing clearance and wear, adjust or replace abnormal components. Check the flatness of the pump head pressure block. If it is rough and uneven, it needs to be replaced to avoid excessive wear of the hose.
4. Long term disuse treatment
Disassemble the pump head: If the peristaltic pump is not used for a long time, it is necessary to disassemble the pump head and dry the internal liquid, apply anti rust grease to the connecting parts, and store them properly.
5. Optimization of usage habits
Reasonably choose the speed: while meeting the requirements of its own flow transmission, select the appropriate pump head and hose to reduce the operating speed, which can also extend the service life of the hose.
Control liquid characteristics: Pay attention to controlling the viscosity and particle content of the liquid, avoiding fluids with high viscosity or high particle content from entering the pump, so as not to affect the normal operation of the pump head.
6. Special case handling
High wear condition: If conveying media containing particles or high viscosity, the hose inspection cycle should be shortened to once every 2 weeks.
Environmental protection: Regularly clean the dust around the equipment, close the valve and cover it with a dust cover when not in use to protect the pump from external environmental influences.
