How to correctly install fluororubber tubing

Fluororubber tubeApplication scope: Corrosive chemical transportation, electronic applications, ink and conventional printing applications, automation applications, and general mechanical applications that meet specific requirements. Features: Strong pressure rating, relatively strong chemical resistance, extremely low permeability. Good resistance to solvents, acids, bases, alcohols, and esters. Transparent.
Main types:
Fluororubber 23: vinylidene fluoride trifluorochloroethylene copolymer, commonly known as No. 1 rubber in China.
Fluororubber 26: a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene, with better overall performance.
Silicone Fluororubber: Composite silicone rubber and fluororubber, with both high and low temperature resistance (-60 ℃~250 ℃) and corrosion resistance.
Installation method:
1. Preparation before installation
Size matching: Measure the size of the pipeline or interface to ensure that the inner diameter of the fluororubber tube matches the target component (error ≤ 5%), avoiding deformation or leakage caused by forced installation.
Cleaning treatment: Remove oil stains and rust on the surface of the pipeline, ensure dryness, and pre treat with anti rust paint if necessary.
2. Lubrication and auxiliary tools
Lubrication method: Apply silicone grease or soapy water to the interface of the fluororubber pipe to reduce frictional resistance, and push in while rotating to keep the pipe straight and aligned.
Tool assistance:
Use a rubber tube expander to expand the tube opening and insert it, which will automatically seal after rebounding.
For hard fluororubber pipes, cotton ropes can be used to tie and tighten the pipe head, and the diameter of the pipe can be contracted by tension to assist in installation.
3. Thermal expansion and contraction method
Soak the fluororubber tube in hot water at 80 ℃ for 2-3 minutes to soften, and quickly insert it into the interface while it is still hot; In winter, a hair dryer can be used to heat the tube and cool the metal interface to enhance the shrinkage effect.
4. Special scenario handling
Installation of flame retardant heat shrink tubing: If it is a fluororubber heat shrink tubing, it needs to be uniformly heated (using a hot air gun or oven) to ensure a tight fit and avoid local overheating.
Complex component wrapping: Valves, flanges, and other parts need to be cut into a "hat" shape for wrapping, and the seams should be reinforced with special glue or sealing tape.
5. Check after installation
Confirm that there are no twists or wrinkles, and that the joints are tightly sealed. If necessary, perform a pressure test (such as 0.5MPa water pressure).
