Piezoelectric triaxial force gauge can accurately measure small force changes
Date: 2025-08-24Read: 0
A piezoelectric triaxial force gauge is a sensor that uses the piezoelectric effect to measure forces in three directions (axial, transverse, and vertical). It converts mechanical force into electrical signals through the charge accumulation characteristics of piezoelectric materials, thereby achieving high-precision force measurement. This force measuring instrument is widely used in materials testing, robotics technology, aerospace and other fields, with high precision, fast response and broad application prospects.
  Piezoelectric triaxial force gaugeWorking principle:
1. Structural design: The core part of the triaxial force gauge is composed of three piezoelectric sensor arrays, which are placed in three perpendicular directions (such as X, Y, and Z axis directions). Each sensor is capable of sensing force in the corresponding direction and generating a charge signal proportional to the magnitude of the force.
2. Signal conversion: When external force is applied to the sensor, it will deform and accumulate charges on the surface. By using a signal conditioning circuit, the charge signal is converted into a voltage signal, and then the numerical value of the force is output through analog or digital means.
3. Three dimensional measurement of force: In order to achieve the measurement of three-dimensional force, a stereo sensor array is usually used to detect the forces in the X, Y, and Z directions separately. The measurement of these forces can be achieved through matrix operations or more complex calibration algorithms to ensure that the force signals in each direction do not interfere with each other and can accurately separate the force components in each direction.
4. Signal processing: As piezoelectric materials output AC signals, rectification and filtering circuits are usually required to obtain stable DC signals. In addition, temperature compensation, calibration, and noise suppression are required to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results.
Advantages of piezoelectric triaxial force measuring instrument:
1. High sensitivity: Due to the high sensitivity of piezoelectric materials, they can accurately measure small force changes, which makes the triaxial force gauge particularly outstanding in measuring small forces.
2. High frequency response: Compared with traditional strain gauges, piezoelectric force gauges have faster response times and can measure high-frequency dynamic forces. Especially in applications that require real-time response, piezoelectric force gauges have great advantages.
3. Compact and lightweight: Due to the smaller volume of piezoelectric materials, they are usually more compact and lightweight than traditional force sensors, making them suitable for applications with limited space.
4. Wide application range: not only suitable for measuring static forces, but also for measuring dynamic forces such as vibration, impact, etc. Its wide range of applications covers many fields such as the automotive industry, aerospace, and precision instrument manufacturing.
