The role of PGM7340 VOC detector in indoor air quality assessment
Date: 2025-07-21Read: 3
PGM7340 VOC detector is a portable instrument designed specifically for detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs), widely used in indoor air quality assessment, industrial hygiene, environmental monitoring and other fields.
1. Core function of PGM7340 VOC detector: precise detection of VOCs concentration
(1) Detection principle
Sensor technology: High precision photoionization detectors (PID) or semiconductor sensors are used to detect low concentrations of VOCs (such as formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, etc.) in real time.
Advantages of PID: It is sensitive to most VOCs and has a detection limit as low as ppb (such as formaldehyde up to 0.005ppm), making it suitable for indoor trace pollution analysis.
Data output: Directly display VOCs concentration, some models support real-time curve recording and historical data query.
(2) Detection range
Typical VOCs: formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, radon, TVOCs (total volatile organic compounds), etc.
Concentration range: 0-10000 ppm (adjustable range), covering detection needs from clean air to high pollution environments.
The role of PGM7340 VOC detector in indoor air quality assessment
(1) Identify sources of pollution
Release of building materials and furniture: detect formaldehyde and benzene derivatives released from boards, paints, and adhesives, and assess the risk of decoration pollution.
Contribution of daily necessities: Monitor VOCs emissions from chemicals such as cleaning agents, air fresheners, and inks.
Ventilation system issue: By comparing the concentrations in different areas, locate the areas where pollutants accumulate due to poor ventilation.
(2) Health risk assessment
Short term exposure: High concentration VOCs (such as formaldehyde>0.1mg/m)? )May cause headaches and respiratory irritation; Long term exposure to benzene derivatives is associated with leukemia risk.
Long term monitoring: Continuous monitoring can evaluate cumulative exposure levels and provide a basis for health interventions (such as recommending the use of ventilation and purification equipment).
(3) Purification effect verification
Efficiency of air purifier: Compare VOCs concentration before and after turning on the equipment to quantify purification performance (such as CADR value verification).
Ventilation strategy optimization: By detecting concentration changes after natural or mechanical ventilation, develop a reasonable ventilation plan.
(4) Compliance testing
Standard reference: Complies with China's "Indoor Air Quality Standards" (GB/T 18883-2022) or international standards (such as ASTM D6669).
Legal basis: Provide objective testing data for decoration acceptance and disputes over air quality in rental housing.
