The experiment selected commercially available Pd nanoparticles as samples, methane (CH4) and oxygen (O2) as reaction gases, and observed and analyzed the morphology and gas-phase products of the samples using TEM and MS during the heating process from 25 to 960 ° C. Table 1 shows the measurement conditions for each device.
Figure 2 shows the heating program of the in-situ sample rod (middle), the corresponding TEM image (top), and the SIM chromatogram at m/z 44 (CO2) (bottom). At approximately 560 ° C, the generation of CO2 was observed, accompanied by slight vibrations of Pd particles. The vibration stops during cooling and reappears during reheating. When heated to a higher temperature, Pd particles coalesce.
Conclusion: These results have important reference value for analyzing the mechanism and process optimization of Pd catalytic reactions. The use of the JEM-ARM200F and JMS-Q1600GC combined system for in-situ gas-phase reaction experiments will be very useful for the analysis and characterization of high-performance materials such as catalysts.
