Performance indicators of atmospheric pressure sensors
Date: 2025-12-11Read: 1
The performance indicators of atmospheric pressure sensors cover multiple aspects such as measurement range, accuracy, resolution, response and stabilization time, temperature adaptability, output signal, environmental adaptability, power consumption and size. The specific introduction is as follows:
Measurement range: The measurement range of atmospheric pressure sensors is usually between 300hPa and 1100hPa, and some models can be extended to 0hPa to 1100hPa to meet the pressure measurement needs of different altitudes and environments. For example, in meteorological monitoring, it is necessary to cover a wide range of atmospheric pressure from the surface to the upper atmosphere; In smart home applications, more attention may be paid to changes in air pressure near the surface.
Accuracy: Accuracy is an important indicator for measuring the deviation between sensor measurement results and true values. The accuracy of atmospheric pressure sensors is usually between ± 0.1hPa and ± 1hPa, and high-precision models can reach ± 0.01% FS (full range), suitable for applications that are sensitive to pressure changes, such as weather stations, aviation, and other fields.
Resolution: Resolution refers to the minimum amount of pressure change that a sensor can detect. The resolution of atmospheric pressure sensors is usually 0.1 hPa, which can capture subtle pressure fluctuations and provide accurate data for weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, and other applications.
Response time and stability time: Response time refers to the time required for a sensor to output a stable signal from receiving a change in air pressure, usually less than 1 second. The stabilization time refers to the time required for the sensor to reach a stable output state after being powered on, usually within 1 second. Fast response and stable time ensure that the sensor can reflect changes in air pressure in real time.
Temperature adaptability: Temperature changes can affect the output stability of sensors, so atmospheric pressure sensors usually have temperature compensation function. Its working temperature range is wide, ranging from -40 ℃ to 85 ℃, and some models can even work in more extreme environments. The temperature drift coefficient is an important indicator for measuring the temperature stability of sensors, such as zero temperature drift ≤ 0.02% FS/℃ and full-scale temperature drift ≤ 0.02% FS/℃.
Output signal: The atmospheric pressure sensor supports multiple types of output signals, including analog voltage output (such as 0V to 2VDC, 0V to 5VDC), current output (such as 4mA to 20mA), and digital interface output (such as RS485, I ² C, SPI, etc.). These output signals are easy to connect with various data acquisition systems, controllers, or computers, enabling real-time transmission and processing of data.
Environmental adaptability: Atmospheric pressure sensors usually have a high level of protection and can resist erosion from environmental factors such as dust and moisture. Some models also use aluminum alloy profile shells and undergo electroplating and spray coating treatment, which have the ability to resist rain, corrosion, and strong magnetic interference, and are suitable for various harsh environments.
Power consumption and size: With the development of the Internet of Things and portable devices, low power consumption and miniaturization have become important trends in the development of atmospheric pressure sensors. Some models have a working current as low as 2mA, power consumption less than 15mA, and are compact and lightweight in size, making them easy to carry and install.
