Performance characteristics and application scenarios of acoustic release devices
Date: 2025-07-04Read: 1
Acoustic release device is a key equipment used for underwater positioning and recovery, widely used in fields such as marine engineering, marine scientific research, marine surveying, deep-sea exploration, and seabed oil and gas development. It can remotely control the release action of underwater equipment through sound wave signals, achieving accurate positioning and safe recovery of underwater equipment.

  acoustic releaseWorking principle:
1. Sound wave signal reception
Built in sound wave receiver, capable of capturing underwater specific frequency and encoded sound wave signals. These sound signals are usually emitted by surface vessels or submersibles and transmitted through the water to reach the equipment.
2. Signal decoding and verification
The received sound signal is decoded by an internal electronic module to verify its legality and correctness, ensuring the reliability of the release instruction source and avoiding false triggering.
3. Mechanical release action
After the signal verification is passed, the driving device activates the release mechanism. Common release methods include electromagnetic driven pin detachment, mechanical thread loosening, hydraulic pushing, etc. After the release mechanism is activated, the connection part is disconnected and the device is detached from the anchoring or connection structure.
4. Equipment floating recovery
The released equipment is lifted to the surface using built-in buoyancy devices or external floating balls for easy retrieval by operators.
Performance characteristics:
1. Remote operation
The use of acoustic signals for remote control eliminates the risks and difficulties of manual diving operations, improving safety and operational efficiency.
2. High sensitivity and precision
Adopting advanced sound wave reception and signal processing technology to ensure accurate reception and recognition of release commands even in complex underwater acoustic environments.
3. Compact and reliable structure
Compact design, reasonable structure, good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for deep-sea high-pressure environment.
4. Multiple release methods
Support multiple release mechanisms to meet the needs of different application scenarios, such as electromagnetic release suitable for fast response and mechanical release suitable for long-term stability.
5. Low power design
By using low-power electronic components and optimizing the power supply system, the lifespan of the equipment can be extended, making it suitable for long-term deployment.
6. Safety precautions against accidental triggering
Adopting complex signal encoding and multi-level verification mechanisms to prevent false triggering and release, ensuring the safety of equipment and personnel.
Application areas of acoustic release devices:
1. Marine scientific research
In the deployment and recovery of underwater observation instruments, marine meteorological stations, earthquake monitoring equipment, etc., remote release and recovery of equipment can be achieved to improve scientific research efficiency.
2. Marine surveying and exploration
Used for the recycling of equipment for underwater terrain mapping, underwater geological exploration, etc., reducing manual diving workload and improving operational safety.
3. Oil and gas development
Oil drilling platforms, subsea pipelines, production equipment, etc. need to be released and recovered under specific times or conditions, providing reliable remote operation solutions.
4. Military and Defense
Used for the release and recovery of underwater unmanned underwater vehicles (AUVs), sonar buoys, and seabed monitoring devices, enhancing the concealment and efficiency of military operations.
5. Underwater rescue and salvage
In the salvage operation of sunken ships and sunken equipment, the positioning and remote release of target equipment are achieved through the use of a release device to improve rescue efficiency.
