Ion Chromatography Pump Maintenance Guide: Simple and Easy to Operate
Date: 2025-12-03Read: 20
1Ion chromatography pumpDaily maintenance (before startup/after shutdown)
Check the liquid level of the mobile phase: Ensure that the mobile phase in the storage bottle is sufficient to avoid pump idling; If the liquid level is too low, promptly replenish the corresponding mobile phase (compatible with the system).
Exhaust bubble operation: Open the exhaust valve, start the pump and run it at a low flow rate (1-2mL/min) for 3-5 minutes to discharge the bubbles in the pipeline. After the exhaust is completed, close the exhaust valve.
Clean the appearance of the pump: Use a clean cloth to wipe the surface of the pump body, remove dust and residual mobile phase, and prevent corrosion of the body.
2、 Regular maintenance (every 1-3 months, adjusted according to usage frequency)
Replace the filter head: Remove the suction filter head from the storage bottle, soak it in dilute nitric acid for 30 minutes, rinse it with clean water, and then air dry for installation; If the filter head is severely clogged, replace it with a new one directly.
Check the seals: Check if there is any leakage or wear of the pump head gasket and one-way valve. If there is any leakage or unstable pressure, replace the seals in a timely manner.
Rinse the pump body pipeline: After shutdown, rinse the pipeline with deionized water at a flow rate of 1mL/min for 20-30 minutes to remove residual samples and mobile phase and avoid crystal blockage.
IIIIon chromatography pumpKey precautions
The mobile phase needs to be filtered through a 0.45 μ m membrane to prevent impurities from entering the pump body and damaging components.
Do not start the pump in the absence of a mobile phase to avoid dry grinding and seal wear.
Before long-term shutdown, it is necessary to thoroughly rinse the pump body and pipelines with deionized water to prevent corrosion caused by residual mobile phase.
Ensure that the power is turned off during maintenance to avoid electric shock; Handle the components gently during operation to prevent damage.
