Usage of push-pull force gauge
Date: 2025-08-01Read: 0
Push-pull force gaugeThe usage methods mainly include pre use preparation, installation and connection, operation and testing, data reading and recording, and post use maintenance. Here is a detailed introduction:
1、 Preparation before use
Choose the appropriatePush-pull force gauge:
Select the appropriate range and accuracy level of push-pull force gauge according to the testing requirements. The range should be slightly larger than the expected maximum testing force to ensure the accuracy and safety of the test.
Confirm whether the type (such as pointer or digital display) and function of the push-pull force gauge meet the testing requirements.
Check the status of the instrument:
Check whether the appearance of the push-pull force gauge is intact, without damage or cracks.
Check if the battery level (for digital push-pull force gauges) is sufficient, or confirm if the power connection (for externally powered push-pull force gauges) is normal.
For newly purchased or unused push-pull force gauges, it is recommended to perform preheating or calibration operations to ensure measurement accuracy.
Prepare test attachments:
Prepare suitable testing accessories according to the testing requirements, such as fixtures, connectors, extension rods, etc.
Ensure that the testing accessories are compatible with the push-pull force gauge and can be securely connected together.
2、 Installation and Connection
Installation and testing attachments:
Install the test accessory (such as fixture) firmly on the measuring end of the push-pull force gauge. Ensure that there is no looseness or gap at the connection to avoid affecting the accuracy of the test results.
For tests that require specific directions or angles, adjust the position and angle of the test attachments to meet the testing requirements.
Connect the push-pull force gauge to the test object:
Connect the other end of the push-pull force gauge (such as a hook or connector) firmly to the test object. Ensure that the connection can withstand the expected maximum testing force and avoid detachment or breakage during the testing process.
For testing scenarios that require fixed test objects, use brackets, fixtures, or other fixing devices to securely fix the test objects on the testing platform.
3、 Operation and Testing
Set test parameters (for digital push-pull force gauges):
Turn on the power switch of the push-pull force gauge and enter the testing interface.
Set test parameters according to testing requirements, such as units (N, kgf, lbf, etc.), range, sampling frequency, etc.
For tests that require advanced features such as peak holding, comparison, or average calculation, enable the corresponding feature options.
Preloading (optional):
Pre load the test object before formal testing. The purpose of preloading is to eliminate gaps and slack in the testing system and improve the accuracy of testing.
The preloaded force should be less than the expected maximum test force and maintained for a period of time (such as a few seconds) to stabilize the testing system.
Apply testing force:
Apply the test force slowly and evenly onto the test object. Avoid suddenly applying excessive force or generating impact loads to prevent damage to the test object or push-pull force gauge.
During the process of applying force, observe the displayed value or pointer position of the push-pull force gauge to ensure that the test force is within the expected range.
Maintain testing status:
When the test force reaches the expected value or the test object undergoes expected deformation, maintain the test state for a period of time (such as a few seconds). This helps stabilize test results and reduce errors.
For tests that require recording peak force, ensure that the test state is maintained when peak force occurs in order to accurately read the peak value.
4、 Data reading and recording
Read test data:
For a pointer type push-pull force gauge, directly read the force value corresponding to the position of the pointer on the dial.
For digital push-pull force gauges, directly read the force value displayed on the screen. If the peak hold function is enabled, the peak force value can be read and recorded.
Record test data:
Record the read test data in a test report or data table. Including information such as testing date, testing object, testing force value, testing conditions, etc.
For scenarios that require multiple tests, record the data from each test and compare and analyze it.
5、 Post use maintenance
Disconnecting and disassembling:
After the test is completed, disconnect the push-pull force gauge from the test object first.
Disassemble the testing accessories and keep them properly for future use.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Wipe the housing and measuring end of the push-pull force gauge with a clean cloth or cotton yarn to remove oil and dust.
Avoid using corrosive cleaning agents or solvents to wipe the push-pull force gauge to prevent damage to the surface or internal components of the instrument.
For long-term unused push-pull force gauges, it is recommended to store them in a dry, ventilated, and non corrosive gas environment, and conduct regular power on inspections and maintenance.
Calibration and verification:
Regularly calibrate and verify the push-pull force gauge to ensure its measurement accuracy and reliability.
The calibration and verification cycle should be determined based on factors such as the frequency of use, testing requirements, and environmental conditions of the push-pull force gauge.
