Due to the increasingly high requirements of the steel industry, it is necessary to continuously improve the quality and characteristics of steel. Therefore, a precise, reliable, fast, efficient, and accurate spectral analyzer is needed to guide production. Olympus spectrometers have achieved significant results in this area. The technology used in this instrument is arc spectroscopy analysis and powder fluorescence spectroscopy analysis, which can quickly and accurately analyze various elements in steel materials.
Olympus spectrometer is a high-precision analytical instrument that can be applied in many different fields. In the field of steel industry, it is widely used in the spectral analysis of carbon steel and low to medium alloy steel. Spectral analysis technology is a highly effective method for determining the types and concentrations of different elements present in a sample.
Carbon steel refers to an iron carbon alloy with a carbon content of less than 1.7%, excluding impurities such as iron, carbon, and silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and other alloying elements. The content of industrial carbon steel is generally 0.05% to 1.35%. The performance of carbon steel mainly depends on its carbon content. As the carbon content increases, the strength and hardness of steel increase, while plasticity, toughness, and weldability decrease. Compared with other types of steel, carbon steel is used earlier, has lower cost, wider performance range, and larger usage.
Low alloy steel refers to alloy steel with a total amount of alloying elements less than 5%. Low alloy steel is relative to carbon steel, which is intentionally added with one or several alloying elements to improve the performance of steel on the basis of carbon steel. When the amount of added alloy exceeds the general content of carbon steel in normal production, this steel is called alloy steel; When the alloy content is less than 5%, it is called low-alloy steel; When the alloy content is between 5% and 10%, it is called medium alloy steel; When the alloy content is greater than 10%, it is called high alloy steel. There are hundreds of grades of carbon steel and low to medium alloy steel, and the relevant national standards include GB/T 699-2015 "High quality Carbon Structural Steel", GB/T 700-2006 "Carbon Structural Steel", and GB/T 3077-2015 "Alloy Structural Steel".
In practice, Olympus spectrometers are widely used to quickly determine the content of various elements in steel. They are easy to operate, have high precision, interchangeability, and repeatability. Therefore, it is considered one of the tools in industrial production and scientific research.
In the field of spectral analysis of carbon steel and low to medium alloy steel, Olympus spectrometers are particularly suitable for rapid analysis and detection of multiple elements in steel. For example, it can be used to analyze the content of carbon, iron, silicon, manganese, aluminum, and titanium elements, which play a very important role in steel production and research work.
