How can a non-magnetic optical platform achieve both isolation and non-magnetic characteristics simultaneously?
Date: 2025-09-03Read: 1

The non-magnetic optical platform integrates material selection, structural optimization, and vibration isolation technology to achieve both vibration isolation performance and non-magnetic characteristics. Its core design logic is as follows:

1、 Material selection: balance between non-magnetic and structural rigidity
Countertop material
Marble countertop: Natural marble has zero magnetism, high rigidity (excellent static/dynamic rigidity), and excellent thermal stability (low coefficient of thermal expansion), which can effectively suppress the influence of temperature fluctuations on experiments. Its honeycomb structure, combined with a damping layer, can further attenuate vibration energy.
Non magnetic stainless steel: such as 304/316L stainless steel, which eliminates magnetic residues through special processes, balances structural strength and corrosion resistance, and is suitable for clean rooms or weak magnetic environments.
support structure
Aluminum profile support leg: Made of non-magnetic and lightweight aluminum material, equipped with dual frequency damping isolators, it can isolate vibrations from 0.5-100Hz, with a natural frequency of<1.5Hz in the vertical direction and an isolation efficiency of 90% -95% (at 10Hz).
Air floating support system: using a high-pressure air spring suspension platform, a stable suspension layer is formed by utilizing the air static pressure effect, with a natural frequency approaching zero, isolating low-frequency vibrations (such as ground vibrations) while avoiding magnetic interference.
2、 Vibration isolation technology: multi-level collaboration and dynamic compensation
Passive vibration isolation
Damping isolator: Absorbs high-frequency vibrations through a spring damping system, combined with the honeycomb structure of the marble tabletop, to achieve wideband vibration attenuation.
Air floating vibration isolation: Utilizing the low stiffness characteristics of gas springs to isolate low-frequency vibrations, while connecting inertial masses through inertial supports to further reduce the natural frequency of the platform.
Active vibration isolation (optional)
In precision scenarios such as quantum experiments, an active isolation system can be integrated to monitor vibration in real-time through sensors and compensate in reverse, covering the frequency range of 0.1-200Hz and eliminating vibration interference in 6 degrees of freedom directions.
3、 Structural optimization: details determine performance
Corrugated reinforced honeycomb core layer: The 0.25mm ultra-thin stainless steel honeycomb layer is processed with corrugations to increase the density of the core layer, enhance structural damping, and reduce vibration transmission.
Integrated stainless steel packaging: The all stainless steel structure design eliminates magnetic interference, and the epoxy resin vertical bonding process ensures a rigid connection between the tabletop and support legs, avoiding vibration coupling.
Automatic level adjustment: The air flotation support system is equipped with high-precision valves that can automatically adjust the air pressure to maintain the platform level and adapt to load changes.
4、 Application scenario verification
Aerospace: Isolate the interference of the Earth's magnetic field to ensure the navigation accuracy of satellite optical sensors.
Semiconductor manufacturing: Reduce the influence of magnetic fields on beam deflection and improve lithography resolution.
Quantum computing: providing a low-noise environment and maintaining a stable state of quantum bits.
Biomedical: Avoiding the potential impact of magnetic fields on biological samples and improving imaging resolution.
summary
The non-magnetic optical platform uses non-magnetic materials (marble/stainless steel) to construct a rigid foundation, multi-stage vibration isolation technology (damping/air flotation/active) to attenuate vibration, and combines structural optimization (honeycomb core layer/integrated packaging) to improve performance, ultimately achieving the coordinated optimization of vibration isolation and non-magnetic characteristics. This design makes it a core infrastructure for high-precision optical experiments, quantum technology, and semiconductor manufacturing.
