The core vacuum and pressure saturation device enables researchers to more accurately evaluate reservoir characteristics and optimize mining plans by performing vacuum and pressure saturation treatments on core samples. However, in order to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the experimental results, the correct operating method is crucial. This article will provide a detailed introduction to the correct usage steps and precautions of the core evacuation and pressure saturation device.

1、 Installation and Connection
Install core samples
Carefully place the core sample in the core position of the device, ensuring it is in close contact with the upper and lower end caps. Adjust the fixture according to the size of the rock core to firmly fix it without excessive compression, in order to avoid damaging the sample.
Connecting pipeline system
Connect the inlet pipe, outlet pipe, vacuum pump and other related pipelines according to the instructions. Ensure that all joints are tightened to prevent leakage during vacuuming or pressurization processes.
Set up monitoring instruments
Install and calibrate monitoring equipment such as pressure sensors and thermometers to ensure their proper functioning. These instruments will monitor various parameters in real-time during the experimental process, providing a basis for data analysis.
2、 Vacuum pumping and pressure saturation
Vacuum treatment
Start the vacuum pump and gradually reduce the air pressure in the system to the set value (usually close to absolute zero pressure). Continuously evacuate for a period of time (usually several hours) to remove air and other gases from the rock core, ensuring the smooth progress of the subsequent saturation process.
Inject saturated liquid
After turning off the vacuum pump, slowly open the inlet valve and start injecting saturated liquid into the rock core. Control the injection speed to avoid excessive liquid impact on the core structure, which may affect the saturation effect.
Pressurized saturation
After the liquid fills the core, gradually increase the system pressure to the predetermined value (determined according to experimental requirements). Maintain a constant pressure for a period of time (usually several hours to a day) to allow the liquid to fully penetrate into the core pores and achieve saturation.
3、 Data recording and analysis
real-time monitoring
Throughout the entire experimental process, closely observe and record the changes in key parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow rate. The use of automated control systems can simplify this process and improve data collection efficiency.
data processing
After the experiment, organize the collected data and calculate important indicators such as saturation and permeability of the rock core. By comparing experimental results under different conditions, we aim to analyze the reservoir characteristics and their variation patterns in depth.
