The principle of rock pore casting is to inject liquid impregnating agent into the rock pore throat under vacuum pressure and heat it to solidify. The space occupied by the impregnating agent in the consolidated rock is the interconnected pore throat space of the rock. The rock injected with impregnating agent is further processed into thin rock slices, which are called cast thin slices. If the rock injected with impregnating agent is treated with acid to dissolve the detrital minerals, rock blocks, and cement that make up the rock, it becomes the spatial structure of the rock pores.
