The center has established a professional collection, preservation and innovative utilization team of agricultural microbial germplasm resources, with more than 80 professional and technical talents, including more than 10 national and provincial talents and more than 10 academicians of the CAE Member. Professor Shen Qirong, an academician of the CAE Member and a soil fertilizer and agricultural microbiologist, serves as the director of the center.

As a non-profit resource preservation institution, the center is committed to the exploration, protection, sharing, and innovative utilization of microbial germplasm resources. Focusing on the major needs of scientific research, technological innovation, and industrial development in the fields of agriculture, environment, and food in our province, we will extensively isolate and collect microbial germplasm resources, classify and identify strains, preserve them for a long time, and explore and evaluate their functions. We will create new high-value microbial germplasm and develop their application technologies, providing excellent microbial germplasm resources and professional technical services for agricultural production, environmental protection, and scientific research education in our province and even in China.
