Introduction

What is a potentiostat?

The potentiostat itself is a branch under a rectifier, with constant potential and constant current functions.

Constant potential refers to using the reference electrode feedback as a constant standard to control the output of the organizer.

It's simple. For example, for a newly built pipeline, the cathodic protection potential requirement is -1.2V. The constant potential meter is set at -1.2V, and in order to achieve the requirement of -1.2V, the constant potential meter increases its output until the potential reaches -1.2V. At this point, the output voltage is, for example, 10V, and the current is, for example, 10V. So we can say that this pipeline meets the protection requirements, the required voltage is 10V, and the required current is

If there is a problem with the constant potential, such as interference or damage to the reference electrode, how does the constant potential meter work?

At this point, a constant current function is required, which means that the current output remains constant while the voltage changes. As in the previous example, if the constant potential is damaged, how should the constant current be set? We have learned from the previous paragraph that the current required for this pipeline is -1.2V. In this case, we should set the constant current to a value that can reach the test pile and use a portable reference to measure whether the actual potential of the pipeline is -1.2V. If it is, then a value of -1.2V is appropriate. If it is too small, we can add more current, and if it is too large, we can reduce the current. This is commonly known as manual operation.

What is the concept of rectifier?

A rectifier is a device that converts alternating current into direct current.

According to the rectification method, it is currently active in the market, which means you can see 1 thyristor rectification(Thyristor rectifier)Characteristics: concise, neat, easy to operate, easy to maintain, etc. 2 high-frequency switch rectification. Features: Light weight, small size, diverse forms (vertical, desktop, wall mounted, etc. optional), easy installation and maintenance, simple operation, energy saving, high control accuracy, high anti-interference ability, strong adaptability to the power grid, etc. 3. Characteristics of explosion-proof rectification: high degree of modularization and stable performance. On the market, thyristors are the majority, and high-frequency switching technology has matured, and now many adopt this form.
