Dry thermostat: a precise temperature control tool in liquid free environments
Date: 2025-08-12Read: 3
In the diverse temperature control requirements of modern laboratories,Dry thermostatWith its liquid free design, it has become an ideal choice to avoid sample contamination and improve operational efficiency. This equipment, with aluminum alloy heating modules as its core, demonstrates significant advantages in experimental scenarios such as microbial cultivation, molecular hybridization, and sample concentration due to its fast temperature response, uniform heat conduction, and flexible module adaptability, redefining the operating standards for constant temperature experiments.
The field of microbial detection is an important application area for dry thermostats. In the detection of food pathogenic bacteria, samples need to be cultured at a constant temperature of 37 ℃ to promote colony growth. Traditional water bath methods are prone to contamination by mixed bacteria caused by condensed water mixed into the culture dish, while the closed heating module of dry thermostats can effectively isolate external water vapor, increasing the purity of E. coli culture by 25%. According to the cultivation needs of different bacterial strains, its replaceable module design can quickly switch to 42 ℃ or 28 ℃, and with timing function, achieve unmanned cultivation.

The strict requirements for temperature stability in molecular hybridization experiments fully demonstrate the advantages of dry thermostats. During the hybridization process of gene chips, the sample needs to be kept in an environment of 65 ℃± 0.5 ℃ for 16 hours. Excessive temperature fluctuations can lead to a decrease in the binding efficiency between the probe and the target gene. Dry type thermostats monitor module temperature in real-time through embedded temperature sensors, combined with dynamic compensation algorithms, to control temperature deviation within ± 0.2 ℃, and improve the signal-to-noise ratio of hybrid signals by more than 40%. Its flat heating module can tightly fit the hybridization box, ensuring that each probe point on the chip is uniformly heated, providing a more reliable data foundation for gene expression analysis.
The combination of a dry thermostat and a vacuum system is an efficient solution for sample concentration processing. When preparing protein samples, it is necessary to concentrate the solution to a specific volume. Traditional rotary evaporators are time-consuming and prone to sample loss, while dry thermostats combined with vacuum devices can shorten the time required to concentrate 5mL of sample to 100 μ L at 45 ℃ from 2 hours to 40 minutes, and increase the sample recovery rate to over 95%. For volatile organic solvent samples, the heating method without liquid participation can avoid cross contamination, especially suitable for sample pretreatment in pesticide residue detection.
The portability and stability of dry thermostats also play an important role in POCT testing in primary healthcare institutions. When used for rapid detection of influenza virus, it can heat the reaction strip to 50 ℃ and maintain a constant temperature within 15 minutes, combined with colloidal gold technology to achieve results within 30 minutes, which is more than 2 hours shorter than traditional laboratory testing. Its lightweight design (usually weighing less than 5kg) also makes it easy to carry to the site for testing, helping with rapid screening in public health emergencies.
From routine laboratory experiments to rapid on-site testing, dry thermostats continue to expand the application boundaries of constant temperature technology with their clean, efficient, and precise characteristics, becoming key equipment in modern experimental systems.
