Guidelines for Operation of High and Low Temperature Impact Test Chamber
Date: 2025-09-25Read: 0
The high and low temperature impact test chamber is a key equipment for evaluating the adaptability of products under abnormal temperature changes, widely used in industries such as electronics, materials, and automobiles.Standardized operating procedures are not only the foundation for successful experiments, but also the prerequisite for ensuring the safety of equipment and personnel. This article will provide a detailed analysis of the standard operating procedures for high and low temperature impact test chambers, helping operators systematically grasp the technical key points of each link.
  1、 Preparation work before operation
A comprehensive safety check is crucial before starting the device. Firstly, it is necessary to check whether the power wiring is correct and whether the equipment is well grounded to prevent electric shock accidents. Secondly, confirm that a sufficient amount of high-purity anhydrous ethanol (with a concentration of not less than 99.5%) has been added to the refrigeration tank as the cooling medium. At the same time, it is necessary to check whether the sample is clean and free of burrs to avoid impurities from entering the cooling tank and blocking the circulation pipeline.
  2、 Core operational steps
The operation of high and low temperature impact testing can be summarized into five main stages:
1. Pre treatment: Place the sample under normal test atmospheric conditions until its temperature stabilizes. This step aims to eliminate the influence of the initial temperature difference of the sample on the subsequent test results.
2. Initial testing: The preprocessed sample is compared with relevant standard requirements to confirm that its initial state meets the test conditions before it can be placed in the box.
3. Experimental execution: This is the most critical core step.
① High temperature stage: Place the sample in the test chamber and raise the temperature inside the chamber to the set point, maintaining it until the sample temperature stabilizes.
② Low temperature stage: After the high temperature stage is completed, the sample is usually quickly transferred to a low-temperature chamber that has been pre cooled to the target temperature within 5 minutes, and maintained for a specified time or until the temperature stabilizes.
③ Cycle the above process: Repeat the transition between high and low temperatures to complete the required number of cycles. The conversion speed is the key to impact testing, and it is essential to ensure rapid transfer.
4. Recovery: After the experiment is completed, remove the sample from the box and place it again under normal atmospheric conditions until its temperature stabilizes. This is aimed at achieving equilibrium between the temperature of the sample and the ambient temperature for subsequent evaluation.
5. Final inspection: Refer to the product standard or test outline to check the damage of the sample after temperature shock, such as cracking, deformation, performance changes, etc., and evaluate the test results based on this.
  3、 Safety regulations and precautions
When operating the high and low temperature impact test chamber, safety must be prioritized.
During the experiment, all personnel must be outside the safety warning line, especially when swinging or switching between high and low temperatures.
2. It is strictly prohibited to test flammable, explosive, or highly volatile substances.
During equipment operation, try to avoid opening the box door as much as possible. High temperature opening may cause burns, low temperature opening may cause frostbite, and frequent opening can affect temperature stability and cooling efficiency.
If there is a power outage or malfunction, restart at least 30 minutes apart to protect the compressor.
  4、 Daily maintenance and upkeep
Good maintenance can significantly extend equipment life and ensure test accuracy:
1. Regular cleaning: Keep the equipment clean, replace the cooling medium in a timely manner, and reduce impurities and moisture content.
2. Check the sealing: For three slot equipment, it is recommended to maintain it under vacuum or pure nitrogen to prevent moisture absorption.
3. Professional maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance according to equipment requirements and keep records. Inspections or repairs involving electrical components should be carried out by professionals.

Conclusion
Mastering the standardized operating procedures of high and low temperature impact test chambers is crucial for obtaining reliable and accurate test data. From pre-processing to final detection, every step needs to be rigorous and meticulous, while keeping in mind safety regulations and daily maintenance requirements. The correct operation can not only effectively evaluate the environmental adaptability of the product, provide a basis for improving product quality and reliability design, but also ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment itself. With the development of technology, the automation level of modern impact test chambers is increasing, but the understanding of principles and specifications by operators is always an irreplaceable core.
