Operation Guide for Composite Salt Spray Test Chamber: From Startup to Test Completion
Date: 2025-04-14Read: 2

The operation process of the composite salt spray test chamber, as an advanced material testing equipment, is crucial to ensure the accuracy of test results and the normal operation of the equipment. The following is the operation guide from startup to completion of the experiment:

1、 Preparation before the experiment
The composite salt spray test chamber is a professional equipment used to simulate marine climate environment and test the corrosion resistance of materials. Before operation, the following preparations need to be made:
1. Equipment inspection: Confirm that the appearance of the test chamber is undamaged, the power cord and air pipe connections are normal, and all valves are closed.
2. Solution preparation: Prepare a 5% ± 1% NaCl solution according to the test standards (such as ASTMB117, ISO9227, etc.), use deionized water or distilled water, and adjust the pH value to 6.5-7.2.
3. Sample preparation: Clean the sample to be tested, mark it according to standard requirements, and fix it on the sample rack to ensure that it does not come into contact with each other and is not obstructed by the box.
4. Environmental confirmation: Ensure that there is sufficient heat dissipation space (at least 80cm) around the test chamber, and the ambient temperature is maintained between 15-30 ℃.
2、 Startup and parameter settings
1. Power connection: Connect the power, turn on the main power switch, and power on the control panel.
2. System self-test: The device will perform a self-test for about 30 seconds to observe for any abnormal alarms.
3. Parameter settings:
-Temperature setting: The salt spray test is generally set to 35 ± 2 ℃, and the drying stage can be set to 40-60 ℃
-Humidity setting: Set according to the test requirements (such as 85% RH ± 5%)
-Test cycle: set the cycle times and time of spray, drying and wetting
-Solution consumption: Adjust to 1-2ml/80cm ²/h
4. Salt water tank filling: Open the salt water tank cover and add the pre prepared salt solution to the upper limit mark.
3、 Experimental operation
1. Start test: After confirming that the parameters are correct, press the 'Start' button and the equipment will start heating up.
2. Inspection of spray system: when the temperature in the box reaches the set value, the spray system will start automatically and observe whether the spray is even.
3. Operation monitoring:
-Check whether the temperature and spray volume in the box are stable every day
-Regularly replenish the saline solution in the tank (it is recommended to check every 24 hours)
-Observe whether the pressure gauge remains within the normal range of 0.7-1.5kgf/cm ²
4. Exception handling: In case of an alarm (such as water shortage, overheating, etc.), press the emergency stop button, troubleshoot, reset and restart.
4、 Test completion and shutdown
1. Test termination: After reaching the preset time, the equipment will automatically or manually stop the test.
2. Sample extraction:
-Wear protective gloves and take out the sample
-Gently rinse the surface salt deposits of the sample with clean water
-Dry in a standard environment (such as temperature 23 ± 2 ℃, humidity 50 ± 5%) for 1-2 hours
3. Equipment cleaning:
-Drain the remaining solution from the salt water tank
-Wash spray tower, collector and other parts with clean water
-Wipe the inner wall of the box and keep it dry
4. Shutdown program:
-Turn off the spray switch
-Set the temperature to room temperature and wait for the temperature inside the box to drop below 40 ℃
-Turn off the main power switch
-Disconnect the external power supply
5、 Precautions
1. Safety protection: Wear protective goggles and gloves during operation to avoid salt spray from contacting the skin and eyes.
2. Regular maintenance: Check the air compressor, solenoid valve and other components monthly, and replace the lubricating oil of the oil mist device every quarter.
3. Data recording: Detailed recording of experimental parameters, environmental conditions, and sample changes.
4. Fault codes: Familiar with the meanings of common fault codes (such as E01 temperature sensor fault, E02 water shortage alarm, etc.).
5. Calibration requirements: calibrate the temperature and spray volume every 6 months to ensure the accuracy of the test.
By following this operating guide, the safe use of the composite salt spray test chamber can be ensured and reliable test results can be obtained, providing a scientific basis for the evaluation of product corrosion resistance.
