The maintenance methods for extending the service life of diaphragm pumping vacuum pumps should focus on core component maintenance, operating environment control, and standardized operation. The following are specific maintenance strategies and implementation points:
1、 Regular maintenance of core components
1. Maintenance of diaphragm components
Inspection frequency: Every 500 hours of operation or once a month (whichever comes first).
Operation points:
When disassembling the diaphragm, avoid using sharp tools and check the surface for cracks, hardening, swelling, or wear (if the thickness decreases by more than 10%, it needs to be replaced).
When replacing the diaphragm, it is necessary to simultaneously check the sealing surface of the support plate, clean the accumulated dirt, and apply a thin layer of food grade silicone grease (to prevent adhesion).
If transporting liquids containing particles, it is recommended to install a 30-50 μ m filter to reduce diaphragm friction damage.
2. Maintenance of valve ball and valve seat
Common problems: Valve ball wear leads to seal failure, and valve seat fouling affects opening and closing.
Maintenance measures:
Blow back the valve chamber with compressed air every week to remove impurities such as fibers and crystals; Disassemble the valve assembly every quarter, soak the valve ball in ethanol (the metal ball can be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper), and check whether the sealing surface of the valve seat is flat (blue oil can be used to test the sealing performance).
When transporting highly corrosive media, ceramic or PTFE valve balls should be selected to extend the replacement cycle to 1-2 years.
3. Lubrication of drive mechanism
For components: connecting rod, bearings, gearbox (if any).
Operating standards:
Add lithium based grease (model NLGI2) to the connecting rod bearing every 200 hours, with an appropriate amount to fill one-third of the cavity to avoid excessive heat dissipation.
The gearbox needs to replace the lubricating oil (viscosity grade ISOVG32) every six months. When replacing, rinse the box with kerosene to remove metal debris.
2、 Operating environment and operating condition control
1. Management of Media Characteristics
Temperature control: The temperature of the conveyed liquid should not exceed 60 ℃ (rubber diaphragm) or 120 ℃ (PTFE diaphragm), and a cooler should be installed or a high-temperature resistant diaphragm should be selected in case of overheating.
Corrosion protection: When in contact with strong acids/alkalis, use fluororubber or full PTFE diaphragm, lining the pump body with PTFE coating, and testing the integrity of the coating quarterly (using an electric spark detector).
Particle processing: When transporting solid particles (particle size>50 μ m), a cyclone separator should be installed. When the particle content>1%, the diaphragm inspection cycle should be shortened to 200 hours.
2. Pressure and load monitoring
Avoid overload: Set the upper limit of outlet pressure (not exceeding 1.2 times the rated pressure), and install a pressure sensor linked shutdown protection device.
Vacuum degree management: Continuous operation under extreme vacuum degree should not exceed 4 hours, otherwise it may cause diaphragm overheating and aging. It is recommended to configure a vacuum degree automatic adjustment system (maintained at 80% -90% of the rated value).
3、 Electrical and System Maintenance
1. Motor and Drive System
Heat dissipation management: When the temperature of the motor casing exceeds 70 ℃, clean the dust on the heat sink (which can be blown with compressed air), check if the fan is running normally, and test the insulation resistance (≥ 2M Ω) every six months.
Electrical connection: Tighten the wiring terminals every month, check the wear of the contactor contacts (replace if the erosion depth is greater than 1mm), and prevent poor contact from causing motor overheating.
2. Maintenance of control system
Sensor calibration: Flow and pressure sensors are calibrated annually using standard instruments (adjustments are required if the error exceeds ± 2%), and the sensitivity of liquid level switches is tested regularly.
Software update: If equipped with an intelligent controller, promptly upgrade the firmware and repair potential faults (such as optimizing the diaphragm rupture warning algorithm).
Through the above maintenance system, the service life of diaphragm pumps can be extended to 8-10 years (under normal operating conditions), and the failure shutdown rate can be reduced by more than 70%. It is recommended to develop a personalized maintenance plan based on equipment operation data and provide specialized training for operators (such as diaphragm replacement and leakage detection methods) to ensure effective implementation of maintenance measures.
