Complete Guide to Maintenance of Pharmaceutical Refrigerators: Cleaning, Defrosting, and Key Component Inspection Guidelines
Date: 2025-05-23Read: 2
Drug refrigeration refrigeratorIt is an important equipment for storing drugs in medical institutions, pharmacies, and other places. To ensure the quality of drugs and the service life of refrigerators, regular maintenance is required. Here is a detailed maintenance guide:
1、 Cleaning
Cut off power: Before cleaning, the power must be cut off to ensure safe operation.
Clean the interior:
Remove the removable parts such as shelves and drawers from the refrigerator, soak them in warm water and neutral detergent, and gently wipe them with a soft cloth to remove oil stains and food residue.
Dip a soft cloth in an appropriate amount of neutral cleaner and gently wipe the inner wall of the refrigerator from top to bottom and inside to outside, taking care not to miss details such as door seals and hinges.
For the refrigerator, a small brush can be used in conjunction with a cleaning agent to carefully clean food residue and stains.
For the freezer, it is recommended to use specialized de icing tools to melt the frost first, and then wipe it clean with a soft cloth.
Cleaning the exterior: Dip a soft cloth in an appropriate amount of neutral cleaner and gently wipe the surface of the refrigerator from top to bottom to remove dust and stains.
Cleaning door seal: Use a small brush dipped in an appropriate amount of cleaning agent to carefully clean the door seal, ensuring that it is clean and odorless.
Cleaning door hinges: Dip a soft cloth in an appropriate amount of lubricating oil and gently apply it to the door hinges to ensure smooth opening and closing.
Disinfection and sterilization: After cleaning, food grade disinfectants can be sprayed inside and outside the refrigerator to disinfect and kill bacteria and viruses.
Ventilation and drying: Open the refrigerator door and let it air dry naturally to avoid moisture and odors.
Repositioning items: After the inside of the refrigerator is dry, the medicine can be repositioned. Pay attention to the proper placement of the medicine to avoid blocking the air vent.
2、 Defrosting
Cut off power: Take out the refrigeration drawer and open the door for ventilation.
Defrosting operation:
When breathable, you can first clean and dry each refrigeration drawer.
Use an electric fan or hair dryer to blow air inside the refrigerator to accelerate the melting of the frost layer.
Use a damp soft towel to repeatedly wipe the areas with thin frost, remove the frost, and dry the water in the refrigerator to speed up the defrosting process and prevent the medicine from deteriorating due to defrosting. Repeatedly wiping thick frost several times will accelerate the speed of frost melting. Never use sharp tools to forcefully defrost.
Resume use: After defrosting, wipe clean with a soft cloth, turn on the power of the refrigerator, wait for the temperature to reach the set temperature, and then move the medicine back.
3、 Key component inspection
Temperature regulation system: Regularly check whether the temperature and humidity regulation system inside the refrigerator is working properly to ensure that the temperature of the refrigerator meets the requirements for drug storage.
Sealing strip:
Regularly scrub the sealing strip with warm water to maintain its elasticity and extend its lifespan.
Check if the door seal is damaged, deformed, or aged, and replace it if necessary. Clean the door seal to ensure that its surface is free of debris that may affect the sealing effect.
Test the airtightness of the cold storage door after it is closed, and replace the aging rubber strip in a timely manner to avoid increasing energy consumption due to sealing failure.
Condenser and compressor: Regularly use a soft bristled brush to remove dust and debris from the condenser and compressor to maintain good cooling performance.
Fan:
Check if the condenser fan and evaporator fan are functioning properly, and clean or replace them if necessary.
Confirm if the fan blades are deformed or damaged.
Refrigerant: Check the refrigerant level through a pressure gauge, identify pipeline leaks, and prevent energy consumption surges caused by insufficient refrigerant.
Insulation layer: Focus on inspecting vulnerable parts such as door seams and wall corners, repair cracks or holes in the polyurethane insulation layer, and prevent cold air leakage.
Ground and drainage: Check whether the floor antifreeze layer is cracked, and confirm that the electric heating wire is working properly in the freezer drainage pipe to prevent ice blockage.
Line safety: Check for issues such as cable aging and loose joints, and additionally inspect the effectiveness of explosion-proof components in explosion-proof cold storage.
Equipment grounding: Measure the grounding resistance of the refrigeration unit and lighting system to ensure it is ≤ 4 Ω and prevent the risk of leakage.
Alarm system: Verify the sensitivity of temperature and humidity alarm devices to ensure timely triggering of alarms and linkage with emergency equipment in case of abnormalities.
