What are the technologies used in multi gas optical sensors?
Date: 2025-09-17Read: 4
Multi gas optical sensorMainly utilizing the absorption characteristics of gases towards specific wavelengths of light to detect gas concentration. When light passes through a gas chamber containing the gas to be measured, the target gas absorbs light of a specific wavelength, resulting in a decrease in light intensity. By measuring changes in light intensity and combining optical principles such as Lambert Beer's law, the concentration of gas can be determined.
Multi gas optical sensorThe following techniques are usually used:
Infrared absorption spectroscopy technology: Different gases have different absorption peaks in the infrared band. By measuring and analyzing these absorption peaks, simultaneous detection of multiple gases can be achieved.
Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology: uses a semiconductor laser to scan the characteristic absorption peaks of the target gas, and calculates the gas concentration by measuring the laser intensity attenuation. TDLAS technology has high resolution and anti-interference ability, suitable for the detection of various gases.
CRDS technology: Laser is reflected multiple times in a high reflectivity optical cavity, and gas absorption causes exponential attenuation of light intensity. By measuring the decay time, the gas concentration can be determined. CRDS technology has high sensitivity, reaching ppb level, and is suitable for the detection of trace gases.
Fiber optic chemical material sensing technology: Using fiber optic as the optical transmission medium, gas detection is achieved by detecting changes in light intensity, phase, or wavelength caused by the interaction between gas and chemical materials on the surface or inside the fiber optic. This technology has advantages such as anti electromagnetic interference and remote monitoring.
