Elliptical gear flowmeterIt is a volumetric flow measurement instrument mainly used to accurately measure the instantaneous flow rate and cumulative flow rate of liquids in pipelines.

Elliptical gear flowmeterThe measuring part mainly consists of two interlocking elliptical gears and their housing (measuring chamber). Under the pressure difference of the measured medium, the elliptical gear generates a torque and rotates. For every revolution of an elliptical gear, the mass of the measured medium discharged is four times the half moon product. Therefore, as long as the rotational speed of the elliptical gear is measured, the flow rate of the measured medium can be determined.

Advantages:

High precision: High measurement accuracy, suitable for scenarios that require high-precision measurements.

Strong viscosity adaptability: particularly suitable for flow measurement of high viscosity media.

Large range: capable of covering a wide range of flow measurement.

Small pressure loss: Has minimal impact on fluid pressure.

Easy to calibrate: Easy to calibrate and calibrate.

Disadvantages:

Complex structure: The measurement structure design is complex, bulky, and cumbersome, especially for flow meters with larger diameters, which are only suitable for small and medium-sized diameters.

Temperature limit: Not applicable to high and low temperature environments, where parts undergo thermal expansion and deformation at high temperatures, and materials become brittle at low temperatures.

Medium requirements: Only applicable to clean single-phase fluids. When the fluid contains particles or dirt, a filter must be installed upstream to increase pressure loss and maintenance work. If measuring liquids containing gases, a gas separator must be installed.

Safety performance: Poor safety performance during the measurement process. If the measuring element gets stuck, the fluid cannot pass through and the cut-off pipe system cannot be used.

Pulsation and noise: Pulsation caused by fluid flow, large diameter flow meters can also produce noise, and even pipeline vibration.
