As the core crushing equipment in industries such as mining and building materials, the troubleshooting and maintenance of jaw crushers directly affect production efficiency and equipment lifespan. The following are systematic troubleshooting methods and maintenance recommendations for common faults:
1、 Core fault classification and troubleshooting methods
Mechanical transmission abnormality
The flywheel rotates but the moving jaw stops rotating: check whether the tension rod spring is broken, whether the elbow plate is detached or stuck. If the spring fails and needs to be replaced, and the elbow plate falls off, reinstall and tighten the nut.
Flywheel swing or eccentric shaft speed decrease: often caused by loose pulley keys or improper flywheel assembly. Tighten the keyway bolts or replace damaged parts to ensure that the flywheel runs synchronously with the shaft.
Abnormal noise and vibration in the crushing chamber
Metal impact sound: If the sound comes from the collision of the toothed plate, the discharge port needs to be increased; If the lining plate becomes loose, immediately tighten the bolts or replace the broken screws.
Crushing plate shaking: Check the fixing condition of the side lining plate and replace the severely worn lining plate if necessary.
Bearing overheating
Lubrication issue: Add lubricating oil, clean the bearings, and replace with new grease.
Mechanical failure: Repair the tile seat or replace the bearing with a new one.
Capacity and granularity issues
Product granularity becomes coarser: Adjust the gear plate vertically or replace it with a new lining plate, while adjusting the discharge port to the standard size.
Production does not meet the standard: calibrate the motor wiring direction, improve voltage stability, and in severe cases, add fine crushing equipment.
2、 Systematic maintenance strategy
Lubrication management
Use calcium based or composite grease and replace it every three months.
Check the oil flow indicator daily and immediately repair the oil pump or heat up the winter oil if there is a shortage of oil.
Fasteners and gap adjustment
Inspect all bolts (especially jaw and elbow fasteners) weekly, and calibrate the torque wrench to the specified value.
Regularly adjust the bearing seat gasket to maintain even spacing between the moving jaw and the fixed jaw to prevent eccentric wear.
Cleaning and anti-corrosion
Clean the residual materials in the crushing chamber daily to avoid corrosive liquids from contacting the metal surface.
When not in use for a long time, apply rust proof grease to exposed gears and chains, and cover them with dust covers.
Through the above detailed investigation and preventive maintenance, the failure rate of jaw crushers can be significantly reduced, and the service life of equipment can be extended. In practical operation, it is necessary to flexibly adjust the plan based on the equipment manual and on-site working conditions.
