Rubber abrasion tester is used to test the wear resistance of rubber and other materials
Date: 2025-11-20Read: 0
The rubber abrasion tester is a device used to determine the wear resistance of vulcanized rubber. It measures the wear volume of materials by simulating friction conditions, providing a basis for material selection and process optimization. ‌
The rubber abrasion tester is based on the principle of "friction and wear". By controlling conditions such as load, speed, temperature, and humidity, the rubber sample is rubbed against specific sandpaper or gauze on a drum to determine the amount of wear (such as mass loss, volume loss) during a specified stroke or time. The key design includes:
Clamp: Fix the rubber sample to ensure stable position during friction.
Drive system: The motor drives the roller or grinding wheel to rotate, providing frictional power.
Measurement device: Precision sensors record wear, and some equipment supports real-time monitoring and data analysis.
Environmental control: Some models can simulate harsh environments such as high temperature and high humidity, which are close to actual usage scenarios.
Daily cleaning and protection
Body wiping: After each use, use a soft cloth to remove dust and oil stains, and do not use corrosive cleaning agents. Metal parts need to be coated with anti rust oil, and maintenance frequency should be increased during the rainy season. ‌
Dust and sun protection: Cover with a dust cover during non testing to prevent dust from entering the electrical control box.
Key component maintenance
Friction pair treatment: Regularly clean the surface impurities of the friction ring (scrape or polish), and replace them in a timely manner if the wear exceeds the standard. ‌
Transmission system: Check the status of the belt/coupling every month to ensure transmission efficiency; Quarterly maintenance of mechanical seals. ‌
Guide rails and gears: Regular lubrication to maintain the flexibility of moving parts.
Application field
Tire industry: Testing the wear resistance of tread rubber and optimizing formulations to extend tire life.
Shoe manufacturing: Testing the wear resistance of the sole and heel to enhance product competitiveness.
Industrial conveyor belt: Evaluate the wear resistance under long-term friction and prevent equipment failure.
Automotive and Aerospace: Testing the reliability of rubber seals, shock absorbers, and other components.
Other fields: Wear resistance verification of tank tracks, screen materials, leather products, etc.
