CEMS stands for Continuous Emission Monitoring System in English, which refers to a device that continuously monitors the concentration and total emissions of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter emitted by atmospheric pollution sources, and transmits the information in real time to the competent authorities. It is called "smoke automatic monitoring system", also known as "smoke emission continuous monitoring system" or "smoke online monitoring system". CEMS consists of a gaseous pollutant monitoring subsystem, a particulate matter monitoring subsystem, a flue gas parameter monitoring subsystem, and a data acquisition, processing, and communication subsystem. The gaseous pollutant monitoring subsystem is mainly used to monitor the concentration and total emissions of gaseous pollutants such as SO2 and NOx; The particulate matter monitoring subsystem is mainly used to monitor the concentration and total emissions of smoke and dust; The smoke parameter monitoring subsystem is mainly used to measure smoke flow rate, smoke temperature, smoke pressure, smoke oxygen content, smoke humidity, etc., and is used for the accumulation of total emissions and the conversion of related concentrations; The data collection, processing, and communication subsystem consists of a data collector and a computer system, which real-time collects various parameters, generates dry basis, wet basis, and converted concentrations corresponding to each concentration value, generates daily, monthly, and annual cumulative emissions, compensates for lost data, and transmits real-time reports to the competent department. Smoke and dust testing has evolved from cross flue opacity dust meters and beta ray dust meters to plug-in backscatter infrared or laser dust meters, as well as forward scattering, side scattering, and electrical dust meters. According to different sampling methods, CEMS can be mainly divided into three technologies: direct measurement, extractive measurement, and remote sensing measurement.

Smoke: refers to the waste gas pollution generated by enterprises during the production process, including SO2, NOx, HCL, CO, CO2, particulate matter including oxygen content, etc.

Emission: refers to the process in which a company releases the waste gas generated during production into the atmosphere.

Continuous: Refers to the fact that the emissions of an enterprise are a continuous process, and the real-time monitoring of this system is also a continuous process.

Monitoring: This system can monitor in real-time whether the harmful substances in the exhaust gas emitted by the enterprise exceed the standard and automatically transmit the real-time monitoring data to the higher-level department.

System: Refers to the hardware and control software of this product as a whole.

Application of CEMS products:

The application of this product requires certification from the national environmental protection department and a measurement production license. Currently, it is mainly used for continuous monitoring of various industrial waste gas emission sources, including thermal power plants, waste incineration power plants, chemical plants, paper mills and other industries. It has strong applicability and can measure multiple gas parameters such as SO2 concentration, NOx concentration, CO concentration, particulate matter concentration, oxygen content, temperature and humidity, pressure and flow rate online.
