Carbon paper is a commonly used material for the gas diffusion layer of hydrogen fuel cell membrane electrodes, which plays a crucial role in supporting the catalyst layer, transferring hydrogen gas, oxygen gas, and reaction products. Under appropriate porosity and pore distribution conditions, carbon paper should have good breathability. At present, there is no unified index requirement for the permeability of carbon paper, so most enterprises refer to "GB/T 20042.7-2014 Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells Part 7: Carbon Paper Characteristics Testing Method" to conduct self-assessment of the permeability of carbon paper materials. According to testing experience, the air permeability of charcoal paper is generally high, so instruments suitable for the measuring range should be selected.
