Pharmacopoeia 4007 Gas Transmittance Tester for Drug Packaging Materials Packaging Breathability Tester
With the release and implementation of the 2025 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the gas permeability measurement method for 4007 pharmaceutical packaging materials has undergone significant technological updates. In this video, we will take the instrument and equipment independently developed by Jinan Languang Company as an example, combined with the requirements of pharmacopoeia standards, to introduce the gas permeability tester for pharmaceutical packaging materials. The new version of Pharmacopoeia 4007 standard has improved the rigor and applicability of the standard by expanding the scope of testing objects and refining method restrictions. The packaging form of drugs has expanded from the original medicinal film or sheet to medicinal packaging materials or containers. For the detection of pharmaceutical film or thin film packaging materials, according to standard requirements, gas permeation meters based on the principle of pressure difference method can be used for detection. The instrument is suitable for detecting various gas permeability indicators such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, etc. of drug packaging materials. We recommend using C106H, C130H, VAC-V2 pressure difference gas permeation meters for this type of instrument. For the testing of container type drug packaging, the new standard specifies that the Coulomb coulometric method instrument can be used for oxygen permeability testing of drug packaging containers by configuring a container test bracket. We recommend using Jinan Languang's C230H oxygen permeability testing system for this project.
