1Reciprocating friction and wear testing machinePre-operation preparation
Equipment inspection
Confirm that the power supply is normal (220V/50Hz), check if the electrical control box is sealed to prevent oil and dust from entering.
Check the rotation direction of the spindle (clockwise when viewed from top to bottom), it is irreversible, otherwise adjust the motor wiring.
Clean the test bench to ensure that there are no debris interfering with the installation of the sample.
Sample preparation
Select samples (such as coatings, plastics, metals, etc.) according to testing requirements, ensuring that the dimensions meet equipment requirements (such as width less than sandpaper width).
Fixed sample: Insert one end of the sample into the rear platform clamp and tighten it, and insert the other end into the front platform clamp. Flatten the cloth surface with a cloth iron sheet and tighten the front clamp to ensure uniform tension of the sample.
Abrasive and load settings
Select sandpaper (such as 280, 400, 500, 600) and clamp it on the abrasive holder, adjust the height of the abrasive holder to fit the thickness of the sample.
Loading weight: Using the principle of lever balance, a weight is added to the other end of the testing arm to accurately control the surface load of the sample (such as 0.05-2kg adjustable).
2、 Parameter settings
Schedule and Frequency
Travel range: 6-120mm adjustable (such as MFW testing machine supporting 10mm, 20mm, 40mm, 100mm travel).
Frequency range: 1-100 reciprocating/min (or 1-5Hz to 1-60Hz, such as MGW-001 high-frequency testing machine with a frequency of 50 ± 1Hz).
Select parameters based on standards or material characteristics, such as:
Coating wear resistance test: low frequency (10-30 reciprocating/min), short stroke (6-20mm).
Metal fatigue testing: high frequency (50-100 reciprocating/min), long stroke (50-120mm).
Load and Friction Force
Load range: 0.05-2kg (weight loading), heavy-duty testing machine can reach 10-500kN (such as heavy-duty reciprocating friction and wear testing machine).
Friction measurement: 0-10N (strain measurement method), resolution 0.01mm (such as MFW type testing machine).
Pre set test force: Input the target load value, and the equipment will automatically load to the set value and maintain balance.
Temperature control (optional)
The room temperature can be adjusted to 300 ℃ (such as a heavy-duty testing machine), with a temperature accuracy of ± 1 ℃.
Connect the temperature control meter and operate the heating unit according to the instructions.
Test frequency and shutdown conditions
Set the number of reciprocating wear cycles (such as 1000 or 5000), and the equipment will automatically count and stop.
Enable over limit protection: When the friction, temperature, or test force exceeds the preset value, the equipment will alarm and shut down.
3、 Operation process
Start the device
Lift the abrasive rack, push the front platform to hook the spring plate, and fix the position of the sample.
Start the motor and observe whether the sample runs smoothly without any abnormal vibration or noise.
runtime monitoring
Real time observation of friction time and temperature time curves recorded on LCD screens or computers.
Regularly clean the surface debris of the sample (such as using a brush to clean every 500 wear cycles) to avoid affecting the test results.
The test is over.
After the equipment automatically shuts down, lift the abrasive rack and remove the sample.
Turn off the power, clean the test bench and abrasive rack, return the accessories to their original position, and apply rust proof oil.
4、 Precautions
safe operation
Do not touch moving parts (such as spindle, abrasive rack) while the device is running.
Press the emergency stop button in case of emergency, cut off the power and check the cause of the malfunction.
maintenance
Clean the equipment daily and check the sensor accuracy weekly (such as friction measurement error ± 1%).
Calibrate equipment (such as load, stroke, temperature, etc.) every 1-2 years to ensure data reliability.
Fault handling
Power supply abnormality: Check if the power supply line and air switch are connected.
Spindle reversal: Adjust the motor wiring or contact the manufacturer for repair.
Data garbled: Do not modify backend parameters, restart the device or restore factory settings.
5Reciprocating friction and wear testing machineTypical application cases
Wear resistance test of coatings
Parameter settings: stroke 20mm, frequency 30 reciprocating/min, load 1kg, sandpaper size 400.
Result analysis: Wear resistance was evaluated by the number of wear cycles and the reduction in coating thickness.
Metal fatigue testing
Parameter settings: stroke 100mm, frequency 50 reciprocating/min, load 50kN, temperature 200 ℃.
Result analysis: Observe the friction force change curve to determine the fatigue life of the material.
