Carbon analyzer calibration and maintenance manual: key steps to extend service life and ensure detection accuracy
Date: 2025-11-10Read: 2

1、 Calibration operation specification: Ensure accurate and reliable detection data

Instrument preheating and status check
Before calibration, it is necessary to ensure that the carbon analyzer has been turned on and preheated for 1-2 hours to reach thermal stability. Check if the air circuit is pure and dry, and ensure that the pressure and flow rate comply with the manufacturer's specified range. At the same time, functional confirmation should be carried out on components such as the combustion furnace, dust removal device, and desiccant to ensure that there are no air leaks or component failures.
Standard material selection and calibration methods
Standard substance requirements: Use certified standard substances with concentrations covering the daily testing range.
Calibration curve establishment:
Linear calibration: Assuming a linear relationship between signal and concentration, it is suitable for the low to medium concentration range.
Nonlinear calibration: When the measurement range is wide, nonlinearity may occur at the high concentration end, and quadratic curves or other mathematical models need to be used for fitting to improve high-precision measurement accuracy.
Calibration cycle management
First calibration: The user sets a cycle based on the initial state of the device, which serves as a reference for subsequent adjustments.
Subsequent cycle adjustment:
If the calibration result is within 80% of the maximum allowable error, the subsequent calibration cycle can be extended.
If the maximum allowable error is exceeded, the calibration cycle needs to be shortened.
If the result is within the error range of 80% -100% or it is difficult to determine compliance, the cycle can be shortened or the frequency of verification during the period can be increased.
2、 Daily maintenance procedures: reduce failure rate and extend equipment life
Pre operation inspection
Confirm that the instrument power supply, connecting wires, sensors, air and water circuits are normal and free from damage or aging.
Check the appearance of the instrument to ensure that there are no damages that affect normal operation, and that the joints of the components are smooth.
Precautions during use
Standardized operation: Strictly follow the instructions and procedures to avoid rapid shaking, collision, or excessive friction.
Environmental control: Keep the instrument away from heat sources such as electric stoves and heaters, and avoid direct sunlight.
Real time monitoring: Pay attention to whether the power supply and grounding are normal, and whether the connection lines are firm during operation.
Post use maintenance
Cleaning and disinfection: Regularly clean instrument components, remove dust or foreign objects.
Component maintenance:
Regularly check whether the sensors, air and water pipelines are loose or blocked, and adjust or clean them in a timely manner.
Check if the circuit is normal. If there is any burning or damage, replace the electronic components in a timely manner.
Shutdown process: After the operation is completed, turn off the power, disconnect the power cord and instrument connection wire, remove the moisture in the circulating water pipeline system, and close the inlet valve of the sample oxidation pipeline.
3、 Safe operation and emergency response: ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment
Safety operation standards
Before operation, it is necessary to familiarize oneself with the basic principles, structure, and precautions of the instrument to ensure correct operation.
It is strictly prohibited to disassemble or replace components during the preheating process to prevent safety accidents caused by misoperation.
Avoid rapid shaking or collision of the instrument during operation to prevent component damage.
Abnormal situation handling
If any abnormalities are encountered during the operation, immediately stop the operation and take measures such as restarting, adjusting experimental conditions, or contacting after-sales service.
Regularly follow the scrapping process and promptly apply for replacement to relevant agencies when the instrument exceeds its expiration date.
4、 Special recommendations for extending service life
environmental control
Avoid using in harsh environments such as high humidity and high dust, or choose instruments with built-in water vapor and dust filters to reduce sensor damage.
Control the environmental temperature and pressure to avoid high temperatures causing the instrument to malfunction or low-temperature freezing damaging the pipeline.
consumables management
Regularly replace consumables and follow the recommended lifespan provided by the manufacturer's standards.
Professional maintenance
Follow the manufacturer's usage and maintenance guidelines, regularly conduct professional calibration and verification services to ensure the long-term stable operation of the instrument.
