As a classic equipment in the field of coating and ink hardness testing,TQC Sheen Pendulum Hardness TesterThe Pendulum Hardness Tester SP0400 has undergone a comprehensive upgrade.
The new version not only goes further in precision and usability, but also brings a more efficient and reliable hardness testing experience to the laboratory and quality control team with intelligent design, automated testing, and user-friendly interface.

The principle of hardness testing is based on the fact that the attenuation time of the amplitude during the oscillation of the pendulum rod in contact with the sample surface reflects the hardness of the coating. The harder the surface, the slower the oscillation attenuation.
TQC Sheen Pendulum Hardness TesterCompatible with both K ö nig and Persoz standard methods - they share the same principle but differ in oscillation angle, period, and structural dimensions, meeting industry testing needs worldwide.

Whether in research and development, quality control, or standard validation laboratories, TQC Sheen swing bar hardness testers can ensure accurate results with high stability and repeatability.
TQC Sheen Pendulum Hardness TesterSupports both K ö nig and Persoz testing methods, meeting the requirements of ISO 1522 and ASTM D4355 standards. The focus of this upgrade is onUser Experience OptimizationandImproved consistency of resultsTwo major directions:

Equipped with a stepper motor and electromagnetic release system, the positioning and release of the swing rod are fully automated, significantly reducing human error and improving repeatability and result consistency.
The new integrated LED indicator light can display the test status in real time:
✅ Green - Test passed
❌ Red - Test failed
🟡 Orange - Testing in progress
The color and brightness of the lighting can be customized, making the experimental status clear at a glance.
The USB interface supports quick export of test data, easy integration with laboratory data systems or SPC analysis, and facilitates efficient data management.
Adopting a sturdy ergonomic shell and a transparent protective cover with air pressure support, equipped with adjustable legs and glass plate/swing rod storage slots, making the experimental space cleaner and safer.

Single or triple continuous testing modes can be selected to meet different testing rhythms and experimental needs.
Stepper motor automatic positioning and electromagnetic release, reducing operational errors
• Custom LED test status indicator light
Compliant with ISO 1522 and ASTM D4355 standards
USB fast data export interface
• Menu calibration system, easy to switch between K ö nig/Persoz modes
Adjustable legs and integrated storage design
Transparent protective cover design, balancing safety and convenience
• Single or triple batch testing modes are optional
TQC Sheen Pendulum Hardness TesterAdopting a modular design structure, K ö nig and Persoz hardness testing methods can be quickly switched to easily meet the needs of different standards and application scenarios.
When operating, simply install the corresponding swing rod and press the switch button to freely switch between the two modes. Both methods determine the hardness of the coating surface based on the time required for the oscillation angle to decay - the harder the surface, the slower the oscillation decay, and the higher the test results.

The K ö nig swing rod adopts an open frame structure, with two steel balls supporting the lower end and a balance weight set at the upper end. During the testing process, the time (in seconds) required to measure the decay of the swing angle from 6 ° to 3 ° is the K ö nig hardness value.
The Persoz swing rod is also an open frame structure, with two stainless steel balls embedded in the upper crossbar to form a pivot point. During testing, measure the time (in seconds) required for the oscillation angle to decay from 12 ° to 4 ° to represent the Persoz hardness value.
Both methods comply with ISO 1522 and ASTM D4355 standards, and are the most commonly used hardness testing methods by laboratories and quality control teams worldwide.
