1Huilong Hydrogen GeneratorPreparation before startup
environment check
Ensure that the equipment is placed in a well ventilated area with a temperature of 15-30 ℃ and humidity below 60%, away from sources of fire and enclosed spaces.
Check that there is no obstruction around the equipment for easy heat dissipation and operation.
Electrolyte configuration
Prepare electrolyte (such as 40.6% KOH solution) in proportion using analytical grade potassium hydroxide (KOH) and distilled water (or deionized water).
Key operations:
Remove the environmental filter on the device backplane and add electrolyte to the appropriate level (observe the water level through the panel).
Avoid using impure water to prevent electrolyte failure or equipment corrosion.
air circuit connection
Replace the sealing plug of the air inlet with the filter in the accessory to ensure the cleanliness of the air path.
Connect the output pipeline to the gas consuming equipment (such as a chromatograph), check the sealing to avoid air leakage.
Power supply and grounding
Connect the grounding terminal of the power cord and the chassis shell reliably to prevent static electricity or leakage risks.
2、 Power on operation
Power on
Connect the power, press the power switch on the back of the device, and start the self-test program (self-test time is about 1-4 hours, depending on the model).
Observe the pointer of the output pressure gauge and gradually increase it to 0.4MPa (factory set value). After the compressor automatically stops, loosen the air output sealing nut to stabilize the system pressure.
parameter adjustment
Adjust the total flow rate to an appropriate value (such as the flow required for the experiment) and control the diversion flow rate through a diversion valve.
Check the purity of hydrogen gas (through equipment display or detector) to ensure compliance with experimental requirements (such as ≥ 99.999%).
Online confirmation
Turn on the air and hydrogen generator switches and adjust the air pressure to an appropriate value (such as<0.4MPa).
Confirm that the gas equipment (such as chromatograph) has been started and set parameters such as column temperature and injection port temperature.
3、 Monitoring during operation
Pressure and Flow
Continuously observe the pressure gauge to ensure that the pressure remains stable within the range of 0.1-0.4 MPa.
If the flow rate continues to be higher than the actual usage, there may be air leakage, and the machine needs to be stopped immediately for inspection.
Electrolyte and water level
Check the electrolyte level daily and add distilled water promptly when it approaches the lower limit to avoid dry burning of the electrolytic cell.
When the electrolyte becomes turbid or discolored, it is necessary to replace it with a new configuration of electrolyte (it is recommended to replace it every 3-6 months).
safety device
Regularly test safety devices such as overpressure protection and undervoltage protection to ensure their normal operation.
4、 Shutdown operation
Turn off gas equipment
Stop using hydrogen from gas equipment (such as chromatography) and close the outlet ball valve.
Shutdown steps
Press the device power switch to turn off the generator.
Open the drain valve of the air compressor, discharge the residual liquid, and then close the valve.
If the equipment is not used for a long time, the electrolyte in the storage bottle should be emptied and the electrolytic cell should be rinsed with distilled water.
Drainage and Cleaning
Remove the backboard environmental filter, insert the drainage pipe to drain until no water flows out, block the drainage outlet, and reinstall the filter.
Wipe the surface of the equipment with a soft cloth to keep it clean.
5、 Key precautions
Safety Specifications
It is strictly prohibited to operate in a confined space to prevent hydrogen accumulation from causing explosions.
Wear protective goggles and alkali resistant gloves during operation to avoid contact of electrolyte with skin or eyes.
maintenance cycle
Routine maintenance: Check the liquid level daily, clean the filter weekly, and check the air circuit seal monthly.
Major maintenance: Replace core components such as water pumps every 2 years (operated by professionals).
Fault handling
Common problems: abnormal pressure, insufficient flow, electrolyte failure.
resolvent:
Check if there is any air leakage in the gas circuit connection and use leak detection fluid to inspect the joint.
Replace desiccants (such as color changing silica gel) or filter cartridges to maintain hydrogen purity.
Contact the manufacturer to replace the electrolytic cell or power module (if the equipment alarms or fails to start).
