Precautions for operating microwave digestion tank
Date: 2025-12-02Read: 2
Microwave digestion tankIt is the core component in microwave digestion systems, mainly used for sample digestion under high temperature and high pressure conditions. Widely used in sample preparation in fields such as food, textiles, plastics, geology, metallurgy, and environmental monitoring, it is used for metal element analysis in soil, solid waste, and food. It helps researchers and testing personnel quickly digest difficult to decompose samples for subsequent analysis and testing.

Microwave digestion tankPrecautions for operation:

1. Safety regulations:

The instrument must be grounded for use, and the grounding of the socket should be checked to prevent ignition and combustion.

Before placing the digestion tank into the instrument, ensure that it is balanced to avoid accidents during operation.

The operator must not leave and closely monitor the operation of the instrument. In case of any abnormalities, immediately press the "stop" button and cut off the power supply.

2. Sample and solvent management:

In the same digestion, the sample quality, solvent volume, and starting temperature of each digestion tank should be consistent to avoid temperature and pressure control imbalance.

For organic matter samples, weigh no more than 0.5g and perform pre digestion if necessary to release gas.

Avoid using nitric acid to dissolve easily reactive substances such as phenol, to prevent excessive pressure caused by violent reactions.

3. Tank maintenance:

Dry the frame and digestion tank thoroughly before each experiment to prevent residual moisture from affecting the experiment.

Regularly inspect vulnerable parts such as safety films and sealing rings, and replace damaged parts in a timely manner.

When cracks or increased texture are found on the tank, it needs to be scrapped and replaced or the digestion pressure and temperature should be reduced.

4. Temperature and pressure control:

The set pressure and temperature should not exceed the high value specified by the instrument to avoid damaging the digestion tank and accessories.

After digestion, wait for the temperature to drop below 80 ℃ before loosening the release screw to prevent acid splashing.
