Maintenance and upkeep methods for chlorophyll fluorescence analyzer
Date: 2025-11-27Read: 0
As the core equipment for detecting plant photosynthetic efficiency, the maintenance of chlorophyll fluorescence analyzer revolves around "optical system protection, sensor calibration, and mechanical structure protection". Through standardized operation, component loss is reduced to ensure the accuracy of detection data and instrument stability. The specific methods are as follows:
After daily use, it is necessary to complete basic maintenance in a timely manner to avoid sample residue and environmental factors. After the inspection is completed, gently clean the dust, plant juice or leaf debris on the surface of the fiber optic probe with a clean soft bristled brush. If there are stubborn stains, gently wipe them with a non fiber cotton pad dipped in a small amount of distilled water. Do not use corrosive solvents such as alcohol and acetone to prevent damage to the optical coating of the probe. Wipe the surface of the instrument host with a dry soft cloth to remove dust and splashed sample residue. When cleaning the panel buttons, avoid liquid infiltration into the gaps to prevent short circuits. At the same time, check the fiber optic cables to avoid excessive bending, pulling, or squeezing. When storing, wrap them into a circular ring with a diameter of not less than 10cm to prevent the internal core wires of the fiber optic from breaking and affecting signal transmission. After each use, put the probe on a special protective cap and place the host in a moisture-proof packaging box in a dry and ventilated place.
Regular maintenance should be carried out according to the frequency of use, with a focus on ensuring the performance of core components. The optical system should be maintained every 1-3 months: open the probe protective cap and use a balloon to blow off the dust on the surface of the internal lens. If there are stains on the lens, gently wipe it with lens paper dipped in a small amount of lens cleaning solution to ensure good transparency; Check the intensity of the light source through the self checking function of the instrument. If the brightness of the light-emitting diode (LED) decays, flashes, or cannot be lit, it is necessary to replace it with a light source of the same model in a timely manner to avoid affecting the detection of fluorescence signals. Sensor calibration should be performed every 3-6 months, using the original factory provided standard fluorescent plate for calibration. Zero point calibration and sensitivity calibration should be completed according to the instrument operation manual steps to ensure the traceability of detection data; If there is a significant data deviation during the calibration process, it is necessary to check whether the sensor probe is contaminated or aged, and contact after-sales maintenance if necessary.
Mechanical structure and circuit system should be maintained every 6-12 months: check the elasticity of the probe clamp. If the clamping force is insufficient, adjust the spring appropriately to ensure smooth clamping of the blades during measurement and avoid light leakage; Clean the dust from the instrument's heat dissipation port, use a blowing balloon to remove accumulated impurities, ensure good heat dissipation, and prevent the host from overheating and crashing. Check if the power and data cable interfaces are loose or oxidized. Use a cotton swab dipped in anhydrous ethanol to wipe the interface contacts, remove the oxide layer, and ensure stable connection; If the cable is damaged or exposed, it is necessary to replace the original accessories in a timely manner to avoid leakage or signal interruption.
Strengthen maintenance measures in special scenarios. After use in high temperature and high humidity environments (such as greenhouses, rainy season fields), promptly wipe the surface and probe of the instrument with a dry soft cloth, and store it in a sealed box containing desiccants to prevent fogging of optical components and short circuits caused by moisture in the circuit; When used in dusty environments such as farmland and construction sites, the probe can be equipped with a dust cover, and the dust in the gaps of the probe should be cleaned after use. If the instrument is idle for a long time (more than 1 month), it is necessary to complete a comprehensive cleaning first, remove the built-in battery (such as lithium battery) to avoid leakage and corrosion of the circuit, preheat it for 30 minutes every month, run the self-test program, and maintain the performance of the components; The storage environment should meet the requirements of temperature 5-30 ℃, humidity ≤ 60%, and avoid direct sunlight, severe vibration, and contact with corrosive gases.
Attention should be paid to the following taboos during maintenance: Do not use hard objects (such as screwdrivers, nails) to scratch the probe lens and fiber optic end face to avoid scratching and affecting the optical path; Calibration must use original or traceable standard parts, and it is forbidden to adjust the internal parameters of the instrument arbitrarily, otherwise it will cause distortion of the detection data; When using in the wild, avoid the instrument from being exposed to rain, falling, or colliding. When carrying it, put it in a special shock-absorbing backpack; During maintenance, it is necessary to turn off the power supply of the instrument and unplug the power cord to avoid the risk of electric shock. After cleaning the optical components, they must be completely dry before turning them on.
Through daily cleaning, regular calibration, and specialized protection, the service life of chlorophyll fluorescence analyzer can be effectively extended (up to 5-8 years for regular use), while ensuring the accuracy and repeatability of detection data, providing reliable support for plant photosynthetic physiology research.
