The working principle and application scenarios of CO ₂ analyzer
Date: 2025-05-12Read: 1

working principle

The CO ₂ analyzer mainly works based on infrared absorption spectroscopy technology. Its core is to utilize the strong absorption characteristics of carbon dioxide molecules towards specific wavelengths of infrared light. The infrared light source in the instrument emits infrared light of a specific wavelength. When the infrared light passes through a gas containing carbon dioxide, the carbon dioxide molecules absorb infrared light of a wavelength that matches their vibration and rotation energy levels, resulting in a decrease in light intensity. The instrument includes a measuring chamber and a reference chamber. The measuring chamber is used to measure the gas to be measured, while the reference chamber provides a reference environment with no or low CO ₂ concentration. The detector receives infrared light passing through two chambers and converts it into an electrical signal. The signal processing system analyzes the electrical signal and obtains the CO ₂ concentration value.
Application scenarios
Environmental protection field: It can be used for atmospheric and pollution source emission detection, real-time monitoring of CO ₂ concentration in the atmosphere, providing key data support for assessing global climate change and formulating environmental protection policies, helping to evaluate climate change and formulate environmental protection policies.
Industrial production: In industries such as chemical, petroleum, and metallurgy, real-time monitoring of CO ₂ concentration during the production process is possible to ensure compliance with environmental standards, reduce pollutant emissions, and achieve green production; In the smelting process of steel and non-ferrous metals, the combustion process inside the furnace can be controlled to improve the metal recovery rate; In the production process of chemical, food and other industries, accurate analysis of gas composition can be carried out to ensure product quality and production safety.
Indoor air quality monitoring: Measuring indoor CO ₂ concentration in crowded places such as conference rooms, classrooms, hospitals, shopping malls, etc. After installation, it can ensure human health and avoid discomfort symptoms caused by high CO ₂ concentration.
In the agricultural field, it is used for monitoring and regulating the concentration of CO ₂ in greenhouses. By controlling the level of CO ₂ in greenhouses, it promotes plant photosynthesis and increases crop yield.
