Electric ball valve has the action of rotating 90 degrees, and the plug body is a sphere with a circular through-hole or channel passing through its axis. Ball valves are mainly used in pipelines as electric ball valves to cut off, distribute, and change the flow direction of media. They only require a 90 degree rotation and a small rotational torque to close tightly. Ball valves are most suitable for use as switches and shut-off valves. The development has designed ball valves to have throttling and flow control functions, such as V-shaped ball valves. The main characteristics of electric ball valves are compact structure, reliable sealing, simple structure, easy maintenance, and the sealing surface and spherical surface are often in a closed state, which is not easily eroded by the medium. They are easy to operate and maintain, suitable for general working media such as water, solvents, acids, and natural gas, and also suitable for media with harsh working conditions such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, and ethylene. They are widely used in various industries. The valve body of a ball valve can be integral or modular.
principle
Electric ball valve is a combination of a plug type ball valve and an electric actuator. The valve body structure of the ball valve is a 90 degree rotating valve core. The electric actuator inputs a standard signal of 0-10mA, and the motor group drives the gear worm gear to adjust the valve angle torque through a switch box. Its use is mainly generated by current flow and regulation operations.
The electric ball valve drives the valve stem to rotate through an electric actuator, driving the ball to achieve a 90 degree opening and closing action, thereby controlling the flow or cutoff of fluid. The core working principle is as follows:
Power transmission
The motor transmits the rotational force to the valve stem through the gearbox, and a standard ball valve only needs to rotate 90 degrees to complete opening and closing, with a response time usually less than 3 seconds.
Flow control
Closed state: The spherical hole intersects with the pipeline in a cross shape, blocking the fluid flow.
Open state: Rotate the sphere 90 degrees to align the hole with the pipeline, and the flow rate can reach 100%.
Adjustment mode: Accurate flow adjustment is achieved by controlling the rotation angle of the sphere (such as 45 degrees), with a control accuracy of ± 1%.
Sealing technology
There is a precise gap of about 0.003 inches between the sphere and the valve seat. When closed, the PTFE or metal sealing ring will rebound and press the sphere tightly, with a leakage rate of ≤ 0.01%. Metal sealing rings are used to enhance reliability under high-pressure conditions.
