Technical requirements for gas sleeve carbon dioxide incubator

The gas jacket type carbon dioxide incubator achieves temperature control through heating with an air interlayer (gas jacket), and its technical requirements cover four aspects: structural design, core parameters, safety functions, and expansion configurations, as follows:
1、 Structural design requirements
Box and inner container
Shell: Made of metal material (such as sprayed steel plate or stainless steel) to ensure corrosion resistance and structural strength.
Inner liner: Made of mirror finish stainless steel material (such as SUS304), with a smooth and easy to clean surface, reducing pollution accumulation; The four corners are designed as semi-circular arcs to avoid dead corners.
Airbag layer: An air layer is filled between the inner liner and the outer shell, with a built-in heating element that forms a uniform thermal protection barrier through circulating hot air, achieving rapid heating and temperature recovery.
Door structure
Double layered door design: The outer door is made of metal material, and the inner door is made of reinforced glass to reduce the loss of warm and humid gases; Some models are equipped with three small doors to reduce the impact of frequent opening on the indoor environment.
Door heating device: prevents condensation on the inner door glass, prevents condensation droplets from contaminating the sample, and improves observation clarity.
2、 Core parameter control requirements
temperature control
Range: Room temperature+5 ℃ to 60 ℃ (some models can reach 50 ℃), suitable for different experimental needs.
Accuracy: ± 0.1 ℃ (such as at 37 ℃), ensuring the stability of the cell culture environment.
Uniformity: ± 0.3 ℃ (at 37 ℃), achieved through gentle stirring or optimized air duct design.
Recovery speed: The temperature recovery time after closing the door is ≤ 10 minutes, meeting the needs of frequent operation.
CO ₂ concentration control
Range: 0% to 20%, covering routine cell culture needs.
Accuracy: ± 0.1%, using infrared (IR) or thermal conductivity (TCD) sensors with self calibration function (such as "Auto start").
Recovery time: The recovery time of CO ₂ concentration after opening the door is ≤ concentration value × 1.2 minutes (e.g. ≤ 6 minutes at 5% concentration).
humidity control
Level: ≥ 90% RH (some models reach 95% ± 5% RH), maintained through natural evaporation from the chassis reservoir to prevent evaporation of the culture medium.
Evaporation area: The chassis design increases the evaporation area and accelerates humidity recovery.
3、 Requirements for safety and alarm functions
overtemperature protection
Dual sensors: The main temperature sensor (such as PT1000) is linked with an independent over temperature protection sensor, which automatically cuts off the heating power when the temperature exceeds the limit.
Alarm threshold: Users can set a temperature upper limit (such as 38 ℃), which will trigger an audible and visual alarm when exceeded.
Gas fault alarm
Abnormal concentration of CO ₂: When the concentration deviates from the set value by ± 1%, an alarm is triggered, prompting to check the gas source or sensor.
Low water level alarm: Remind to add water when the chassis water level is insufficient to avoid a decrease in humidity.
Door open alarm
When the box door is not closed for more than the set time (such as 1 minute), an alarm will be triggered to prevent environmental fluctuations from affecting the sample.
4、 Expansion configuration and additional functional requirements
Air filtration system
HEPA filter: With a filtration efficiency of ≥ 99.99% for 0.3 μ m particles, it reduces the risk of foreign pollutants entering.
Inlet filtration: The CO ₂ inlet is equipped with a high-efficiency filter (such as a 0.3 μ m DOP diameter particle filtration efficiency of 99.998%) to ensure gas purity.
Disinfection and sterilization function
UV lamp: Quickly kills microorganisms inside the box and reduces the risk of cross contamination.
High temperature moist heat disinfection: The 90 ℃ high temperature program has a 100% killing rate of bacterial spores, which is suitable for experiments with high cleanliness requirements.
intelligent control
Microcomputer control system: supports digital display of temperature, CO ₂ concentration, humidity and other parameters, with fault self diagnosis function.
Data recording and export: USB or Ethernet interfaces can be optionally configured to record operational data for easy traceability and analysis.
Remote monitoring: Integrated network interface, supporting cloud data storage and remote control (such as adjusting parameters, receiving alarms).
Multi gas cultivation environment
CO ₂/O ₂ dual gas regulation: Extended configuration supports low oxygen or multi gas mixed environments, simulating complex conditions such as tumor hypoxic microenvironment.
