How to ensure the accuracy of data from air quality monitoring micro stations?
Date: 2025-10-20Read: 1

The accuracy of data from air quality monitoring micro stations can be ensured through measures such as reasonable selection and installation, regular calibration and maintenance, optimization of parameter settings, and strengthening data auditing. The specific measures are as follows:

Reasonable selection and standardized installation
Choose high-precision equipment: When purchasing, choose micro stations with high precision, high stability, and good anti-interference ability to ensure stable and accurate measurement of air quality parameters in various environments.
Determine suitable installation location: The monitoring station should be located away from pollution sources, building obstructions, and areas with strong electromagnetic interference, such as chimneys, roads, high-voltage power lines, etc. Meanwhile, it is generally recommended to install at a height of 3-5 meters above the ground to ensure that the collected air samples are representative.
Standardize the installation process: strictly follow the installation instructions provided by the equipment manufacturer to ensure correct equipment installation and avoid data errors caused by improper installation.
Regular calibration and maintenance
Regular calibration: At least every 1-3 months, use certified standard gases such as those calibrated by the China Institute of Metrology to calibrate the sensor, ensuring that the sensor can accurately respond to different concentrations of pollutants and avoiding reliance on equipment self calibration.
Daily maintenance: Regularly clean the sensor, such as cleaning or replacing the laser scattering module of the particle sensor every six months, to prevent dust accumulation from affecting measurement accuracy; Check the sampling port to ensure it is unobstructed, and replace the filter screen if necessary; For electrochemical sensors, they need to be replaced promptly upon expiration. Failure of the CO sensor may result in low readings.
Optimize parameter settings
Temperature and humidity compensation: Real time monitoring of environmental temperature and humidity is achieved through built-in temperature and humidity sensors, and advanced algorithms are used to compensate for temperature and humidity in the monitoring data, reducing the impact of temperature and humidity changes on sensor measurement accuracy.
Data transmission parameter settings: Choose an appropriate data transmission method, such as GPRS, 4G wireless transmission or wired network transmission, to ensure that data can be transmitted to the data receiving end in a timely and accurate manner. At the same time, the data transmission frequency can be reasonably set, and real-time transmission or transmission at certain time intervals can be selected according to the needs.
Data review and analysis
Data review: Conduct integrity, consistency, and rationality checks on the collected raw data. For abnormal data, verify and handle it in a timely manner, such as comparing historical data, adjacent monitoring station data, etc., to determine whether the data is reasonable.
Data analysis: Using statistical analysis methods to analyze data, evaluate data quality, and compare data from different times and locations to discover trends and anomalies. For example, by calculating statistical measures such as mean and standard deviation, the stability of the data can be determined.
Adopting self calibration technology
Automatic calibration: Utilizing advanced self calibration techniques, such as self calibration methods based on historical environmental parameters, sensor usage data, and classification model training, micro stations can automatically identify deviation data and perform parameter calibration based on current environmental parameters and sensor aging conditions, improving calibration efficiency and data accuracy.
