Introduction to the Measurement Principle of Automatic Viscometer
Date: 2025-09-26Read: 0

Automatic viscosity meterIt is a professional instrument based on the principles of capillary or rotational methods, which achieves precise measurement of liquid viscosity through an automated control system. It is widely used in fields such as petrochemicals, food and medicine, and polymer materials.

Automatic viscosity meterMeasurement principle:

Capillary method: The flow time of a liquid in a capillary is proportional to its viscosity. The instrument automatically detects the liquid level position through an infrared photoelectric sensor and calculates the viscosity value based on the Hagen Poiseuille law. It is suitable for low viscosity fluids.

Rotation method: When the rotor rotates in a fluid, the viscous resistance is proportional to the torque. The instrument collects torque data in real-time through high-precision sensors and calculates dynamic viscosity based on the geometric parameters of the rotor. It is suitable for high viscosity or non Newtonian fluids.

Instrument structure:

Measurement unit: including viscosity measurement components such as capillaries and rotors, as well as high-precision sensors, used to detect liquid level position, torque, and other data.

Constant temperature system: PID regulation technology is used to ensure temperature stability during the testing process through devices such as constant temperature baths, with a temperature fluctuation range of up to ± 0.05 ℃.

Control system: usually includes a program controller, touch interface, and data processing software to achieve automation of the entire process of parameter setting, test startup, data acquisition, and processing.

Cleaning system: After testing, it can automatically inject solvent to clean the capillary or rotor, avoiding sample residue from affecting subsequent testing.

Key Features:

High degree of automation: After the sample is prepared, the entire measurement process does not require manual intervention and can automatically complete operations such as temperature control, sample injection, data acquisition, result calculation and output.

High measurement accuracy: By using high-precision sensors and good measurement techniques, it can effectively reduce human errors.

Easy to operate: Usually using Windows interface or touch based human-machine interface, it is easy to operate, convenient to use, and has functions such as automatic calibration and abnormal alarm.
