According to the standard GB/T 28610, the intrinsic viscosity of organosilicon is measured using a Ubbelohde viscometer. The intrinsic viscosity η is the specific viscosity or logarithmic viscosity at which the concentration of the polymer solution approaches zero.

Organosilicon, also known as organosilicon compounds, refers to compounds containing Si-C bonds and at least one organic group directly connected to a silicon atomchemical compound.Organic silicon materials contain both inorganic siloxane chains and organic functional groups in their composition, making them a typical semi inorganic polymer. And it is precisely this structural characteristic that makes it a very special polymer material, with a series of excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, flame retardancy, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, and physiological inertness that other materials cannot simultaneously possess.

Testing process:

Weighing samples
Weigh the organic silicon with a one ten thousandth balance and place it in a volumetric flask. Use a DP25 automatic liquid dispenser (with a transfer accuracy of ≤ 0.1%) to transfer a quantitative amount of toluene solvent into the dissolution bottle;
Dissolve sample

Place the volume of toluene into the PV6 rotary dissolution apparatus and dissolve the sample at the specified temperature and time by shaking;

Viscosity measurement
Place the dissolution bottle of the organic silicon sample in the IVS800 sample tray with the pre-set water tank temperature, activate the testing function, and automatically obtain the test results;
Test results

The IVS800 fully automatic viscosity measurement system is connected to the computer end, which can automatically obtain test results and store them for diversified viscosity data analysis;

Clean the viscosity tube
The viscosity tube is fixed in the constant temperature water bath of IVS800 viscosity analyzer, without the need for disassembly and removal, and can be automatically cleaned, discharged, and dried.
