Calibration steps for Sanfeng roughness tester
Date: 2025-09-18Read: 1
Sanfeng roughness testerThe calibration steps for SJ-210 are as follows:
Preparation phase
Place the standard block: Place the standard roughness block (with surface cutting patterns perpendicular to the measuring direction of the detector) used for calibration on the calibration bracket, ensuring its stability and accurate position.
Installation of instruments: Gently place the driving part (including probe) of the Sanfeng roughness tester (such as SJ-210) on the standard block, ensuring that the probe is in good contact with the surface of the standard block and perpendicular.
Enter calibration mode
Power on and navigation: Press the instrument power button to turn on the device, wait for the self-test to complete, and then enter the main menu interface through the button (such as Home → Main Menu).
Select Calibration Measurement: Find and select the "Calib. Meas." option in the main menu to enter the calibration measurement screen, which will display the currently set calibration values.
Set calibration parameters
Enter standard value: Compare the calibration value displayed on the screen with the standard value on the standard block. If there is a difference, press the Submenus key (usually the red key) to enter the calibration directory, select the "Standard Value" option, and enter the standard value on the standard block (such as 3.03).
Confirm measurement conditions: Set the number of measurements (usually 2 to improve accuracy), and check if other calibration conditions (such as filter type, cutoff frequency, etc.) meet the requirements. If special settings are required, adjustments can be made in this step.
Perform calibration measurements
Start measurement: After confirming that the calibration parameters are correct, press the START/STOP button to start the measurement. The instrument will automatically perform multiple measurements on the standard block (the number of measurements set previously).
Observe measurement status: During the measurement process, observe the status bar displayed on the screen. If the status bar is blue, it indicates that the measurement is normal; If it is red, it may exceed the measurement range of the detector, and the placement of the standard block or instrument settings needs to be checked.
Complete calibration
Update calibration value: After the measurement is completed, press the Update button (usually the red button) to update the calibration value. The instrument will automatically calculate and store new calibration values based on the measurement results.
Verify calibration results: Conduct a validation test to ensure that the calibrated measurement values are within the allowable error range (such as ± 0.056) compared to the standard block values. If the verification is successful, the calibration is complete; If it fails, it is necessary to recheck the calibration steps or contact a professional for repair.
Calibration cycle recommendation:
The calibration frequency should be determined based on actual usage. If there are many daily measurements, it is recommended to calibrate every 7 days; If the frequency of use is low, you can choose to calibrate every 15 or 30 days.
Regular calibration can ensure the measurement accuracy of the instrument and avoid data deviation caused by long-term use or environmental factors.
  Sanfeng roughness testerNotes:
Standard block selection: Use standard blocks that match the roughness range of the tested workpiece for calibration to improve calibration accuracy.
Probe protection: During the calibration process, avoid collision or excessive pressure between the probe and hard objects to prevent damage to the probe or affect measurement accuracy.
Environmental requirements: Calibration should be carried out in an environment without vibration or strong magnetic field interference to ensure stable and reliable measurement results.
