The Shenzhen Polymer Industry Association (referred to as Shenzhen Gaoxie) was formerly known as the Shenzhen Plastics Industry Association,1987Established with the approval of the Industrial Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, in order to meet the needs of industrial development,2013It was renamed as Shenzhen Polymer Industry Association by the 7th Second Member Representative Conference. Shenzhen High Tech Association is a representative organization of the polymer industry in ShenzhenIndustry associations. At present, there are plastic sub committees, expert committees, and leading the establishment of upstream and downstream industry alliances.

Polymer materials include six major categories: plastics, rubber, synthetic fibers, adhesives, coatings, and polymer based composite materials. Polymer materials, along with metal materials, inorganic materials, composite materials, etc., are collectively referred to as new materials and belong to Shenzhen's strategic emerging industries.
